The Major League Baseball playoff race is heating up, but is your team going to make the postseason?

The 2022 Major League Baseball season has already entered its final month and the playoff races are hot and heavy heading into the final few weeks of the season. There are still several teams competing for divisional crowns and for one of the six wildcard spots at stake in all of Major League Baseball. The tightest race in the league right now is the American League Central division title race at the two top teams in the division are separated by less than two games heading into one of the final Mondays of the season. The National League east division title race is close as well as the Atlanta Braves New York Mets are neck and neck.

New York Yankees (85-56) +5.5 games

The New York Yankees have been the best team in the American League all season long even though they are technically not the best team record wise. They had a little bit of a slump that put them behind the Houston Astros but when it comes down to it I think this New York Yankees team is a better ball club. As of right now they are one of the favorites in Major League Baseball to win the title.

Tampa Bay Rays (78-60) -5.5 games

The Tampa Bay Rays have been a solid team during this Major League Baseball season but it is unlikely that they will catch the Yankees in the American League East. As they will likely have to settle for an American League wild-card spot. However, stranger things have happened and they are only 5 1/2 games back coming into September 12th.

Toronto Blue Jays (78-61) -6 games

The Toronto Blue Jays were expected to be one of the best teams in the league this season but they have been a little bit dissapointing when you consider the standards that were set for them. However, they are likely going to get one of the three wildcard spots in the American League and have an opportunity to make some serious noise in the playoffs.

Baltimore Orioles (73-67) -11 games

The Baltimore Orioles are by far the most surprising team of the 2022 Major League Baseball season as everyone expected them to be in a rebuilding year. However they came out of nowhere to put themselves in the playoff contention. Unfortunately for Baltimore it looks like they are going to fall a couple of games short this season but they will certainly be a team to watch out for in the near and the distant future.

Boston Red Sox (69-72) -16 games

The Cleveland guardians are the youngest team in the league and they are shocking everybody as they look to make a miraculous playoff run. However, the Chicago White Sox are hot on their tails and it’ll be interesting to see if the Guardians can hold on for just a couple more weeks.

Chicago White Sox (72-69) -2.5 games

The Chicago White Sox were expected to be the clear favorites in this division but started the season slow. Heading into the final few weeks of the season they have picked up the pace and they are threatening to come out of nowhere and win this division.

Minnesota Twins (69-70) -4.5 games

Heading into the weekend the Minnesota Twins were in a great position but then they got swept by the Cleveland Guardians and while they are not technically out of it and put a huge hole in their plan to win the American League Central division the season.
