Saints’ Best Takes On Falcons’ Best

The 2019 Offensive Player of the Year was matched up against AJ Terrell on both of his touchdown receptions. Terrell is widely recognized as one of the league’s best corners. Thomas made him look like light work.

On both scores, Thomas was on an island with Terrell and won both battles. One over the top and one in front of the Falcons’ number one defensive back.

Sorry AJ, but he’s not the guy you faced on last year’s Saints.

The Saints Offense Is Back

The year Michael Thomas was not on the field [2021] was a rough one for Saints fans. They watched week after week as their offense struggled to get something going. Through three quarters, they still couldn’t get anything going. After that explosive fourth quarter, the New Orleans offense was firing on all cylinders. With Michael Thomas on the field, along with the acquisitions from this year’s offseason, they looked unstoppable.

Thomas and Jarvis Landry led the way, combining for 12 receptions, 171 yards, and two touchdowns. The presence of additional offensive threats has opened up the Saints’ offense, helping Jameis Winston boast a perfect 158.3 quarterback rating in the fourth quarter on Sunday.

The Saints’ offense has plenty of potential, especially when they have their number one guy on the field. It is exciting to see the impact he has on this team, as well as the possible impact he can have on first-round rookie and fellow Buckeye, Chris Olave.

No Need To Worry, Saints Fans

It was speculated if fans should be worried about their former All-Pro receiver. It seems like Thomas has left that speculation back in Atlanta. Instead of looking back at his injury history, they will look ahead to their meeting with the Buccaneers in the Superdome, where the team will surely need him.
