Serious Knee Injury

Jamal Adams limped off the field after sacking Russell Wilson during Monday’s game versus the Broncos. After the game, Coach Carroll stated that the injury was serious and likely the quadricep tendon, located behind the patella (knee cap). Adams will need surgery and will miss the remainder of the 2022 season. It’s a tough break after extensive injury history thus far with Seattle including shoulder, groin and finger injuries.

Cody Barton

Coach Carroll did not have an update during his press conference after Barton left the game in the fourth quarter with an apparent knee injury. Barton was given the start at the linebacker position and has greatly improved after previously serving in a special teams role.

Tariq Woolen

Coach Carroll in his postgame press conference said Woolen was “fine.” Hopefully we see him creating impact in the cornerback role against the 49ers. Although committing two penalties, Woolen showed signs of promise. The cornerback has been compared to Richard Sherman in height and length while boasting a 4.26 40 yard dash.

Kenneth Walker III

Suffering a hernia injury during training camp in August, Walker was ruled out against the Broncos but has been cleared for week two versus rival San Francisco 49ers. We will definitely be watching to see what kind of impact the second round pick can make as part of the running back rotation.

Roster Health Going Into Week 2 Versus Rival 49ers

Seahawks should be healthier going into week two with the return of Kenneth Walker and Barton and Woolen are seemingly healthy or day-to-day. While the Broncos offense looked rusty and not in-sync, the Hawks defense did not miss a beat without Jamal Adams. He will be undergoing knee surgery this week and is unlikely to return to the lineup for the remainder of the 2022 season. According to the Seahawks updated depth chart, we will see Josh Jones replacing Adams this week against the San Francisco 49ers.

The Seahawks will be missing very few key players today in San Francisco. Justin Coleman will miss the game, which puts a dent in the Seahawks’ cornerback depth. This may not affect the game in a big way, though, as the 49ers are likely to be missing their number one offensive weapon in tight end George Kittle.

Defensive lineman Shelby Harris is back for the Week Two game after he missed practice throughout the week with a back injury. This is great news for the Seahawks, who will look to plug up the typically effective San Francisco rushing game in what looks to be a nasty game weather-wise. Uchenna Nwosu, a star in the Seahawks impressive Week One victory, also made it through the week and will play today.
