Welcome back! In this series we will be discussing five standout Eagles players from each week’s game. Let’s take a look at who stood out on Monday night!

Let’s Fly Eagles Nation!

Jalen Hurts

With 390 total yards and 333 of them coming through the air, Hurts, for the second consecutive week, played a very sharp game – though this time it was with his arm. Jalen added 11 carries for 53 yards and didn’t seem to take off without scanning the field first. It’s only been two weeks, but Hurts looks in full control of this offense.

Darius Slay

After Justin Jefferson’s Week One performance, it was only natural to be concerned about what he might do in Week Two. ”Big Play” Slay held Jefferson to under 50 yards receiving and racked up two big interceptions, while getting his hands on a couple of other passes. Slay put in a huge performance, one to remember.

DeVonta Smith

After last weeks’ catch-less game, Smitty responded well, showing his precision route-running to gain 80 yards on seven receptions. Smith will be a big part of this passing game all year so it was nice to see him “get his” this week.

Dallas Goedert

Goedert seemingly moved the chains whenever it was needed on Monday night against Minnesota. Dallas gained 82 yards on five receptions and showed why the tight end can be a quarterback’s best friend. Together, with A.J. and Smitty, Dallas Goedert adds a safety blanket with explosion for Hurts to continue to grow.

Jonathan Gannon

We HAVE to shout out the job Gannon did on Monday night against Justin Jefferson and the Minnesota Vikings. There were BIG concerns after almost allowing the game to slip away in Week One vs Detroit and Gannon delivered in a big way.

The front four created some pressure, but the story of the night was his CBs holding up in man coverage which allowed him to blitz – something that the Philly faithful has been begging for since Gannon’s appointment as DC. This was an encouraging defensive performance and one we can, hopefully, build on.

Let us know your thoughts! With two weeks in the books, The Philadelphia Eagles will look to keep things rolling in Week Three against Washington. Don’t forget to check us out on Facebook, Twitter and on FlyEaglesNation.com! Stay tuned for more great Eagles content. Fly Eagles Fly!
