Key Plays

The Eagles’ offense marched the field on their first drive, leading to a rushing touchdown from three yards out by Quarterback Jalen Hurts. The Eagles’ defense showed up early forcing a three-and-out. After a few punts, Hurts found Wide Reciever Quez Watkins for a 53-yard touchdown to push the lead to 14-0. Jalen Hurts started the game 11 for 11 on passing attempts.

Vikings Quarterback Kirk Cousins responded with a touchdown to the Tight End Irv Smith. However, Hurts ended the half on a 10-0 run. His first was a 26-yard rushing touchdown that included some muscling near the goal-line. With 1:21 left in the first half, the offense drove the field to kick a field goal going into the locker rooms.

In the second half, the offenses did not add up any points, but the Eagles defense was amazing. Darius Slay intercepted Cousins twice along with Avonte Maddox grabbing one of his own. Slay had the task of guarding Vikings star Justin Jefferson and limited him to just six catches for 49 yards. That is elite coverage by one of the best corners in the game. The Vikings’ defense received an interception off the hands of Running back Kenneth Gainwell.

Noticeable Stats

Jalen Hurts had the game of his career. The third-year QB threw for 333 yards on 25-31 with a score. He added 57 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
