Hurts outperforms Wentz in their first game as opponents. Hurts throws a pair of scores to Dallas Goedert and runs another in himself. The Eagles’ defense gets to Wentz forcing three turnovers.

Kevin Brzostek: Eagles 27-17

The Eagles are looking for their first 3-0 start since the 2016 season. Jalen Hurts is playing at a high level and Philadelphia has a dominant rushing attack. Carson Wentz will keep the game close in the first half before the Eagles pressure gets to him later on.

Stadium Rant Predictions

A few of our affiliate writers from various Stadium Rant sites have made their predictions as well.

Emmanuel King (Commanders Capitol): Eagles 34-30

We’ve seen different showings all-around from both teams. One thing is for sure though, both teams will look to continue to put on a show offensively as both are in the top 10 in points per game. Wentz and the Commanders showed their ability to score points in a hurry in both of their previous contests, while the Eagles have shown to be just as unstoppable as they lead the league in yards through Week Two. I expect a somewhat high-scoring game capped off by late-game heroics in this divisional showdown.

Megan Hall (Indy Intercept): Commanders 27-24

I cannot believe I’m picking Carson Wentz to play better than Jalen Hurts, but here we are. I’m just not quite sure about Hurts yet. I need him show me more. He played a very good game against the Vikings, but I want to see if he can continue the trend with spreading the ball more and getting playmakers involved.

Ronnie Eastham (Bills Beat): Eagles 31-21

While I like the Commanders as an improved team, particularly on the offensive side of the ball, I don’t believe they are on the same level as the Eagles this year. The Eagles bring a solid defense and can put up some points.

Gage P. Cheslock (Stadium Rant): Eagles 38-17

Hurts is going to torch the commanders weak secondary, and Wentz is due for just an overall horrible game.
