The Story On How The Bills “Eight” The Tuna Cans

The Number Two Overall Defense

This is a public service announcement to all sports fanatics who love to read exciting sports articles. As my Co-Host of M&T Live @ The Apollo Show Joe “Monster” McDonell would say “Get Up” and get ready to embark on a journey that will give you three reasons why The Bills Will Beat The Dolphins this upcoming Sunday at Hard Rock Stadium in Miami.

Many people have been on the record reciting the famous cliche quote that “no one remembers who was second”. In this case, being number two plays a significant role as I tap into why the Buffalo Bills will be victorious on Sunday against the Dolphins.

Adjectives like rebuttal, denial, and shielding have all been used to describe defense. Leslie Frazier has described defense as being elite, being at the top of the class in keeping opponents from being successful. During Leslie Frazier’s tenure as defensive coordinator for Buffalo, his defense has ranked in the top three in total yards in four of the last six seasons according to Pro Football Reference.

Now everyone is worried about whether the Bills will be able to deal with the speed of the Miami Dolphins. I implore fans to remember Buffalo deliberately strengthened their defensive line by adding depth to it. Jordan Phillips will be out for this game, but the Bills have quality depth as DaQuan Jones, Tim Settle, and Shaq Lawson will be activated and available.

Add that corps with AJ Epenesa and Von Miller who have had a major impact on this defense, and they should be able to get to Tua Tagovailoa. Defensive line speed versus wide receiver speed. Confidence is key. The Bills Mafia should be confident that Leslie Frazier and the Bills will win that key matchup which will lead to a Bills victory.

Who Can Be More Offensive

There’s a saying in the rap battle culture that goes “you can’t buy respect”. This situation just might be the exception. The Miami Dolphins acquired Tyreek Hill from the Kansas City Chiefs. The explosive star wideout has been a major part of knocking the Bills out of the playoffs. To add injury to insult, the Miami Dolphins already have Jaylen Waddle who is a 4.3 speedster who can get vertical. This tag team presents matchup nightmares for the Bills who will be missing multiple starters at the cornerback and safety positions. So how will they be more offensive?

In battle rap, usually the more offensive rapper wins the battle. Josh Allen is one of the most offensive quarterbacks currently in the NFL. His mobility and arm strength create a world of issues for even the best of defenses. The Miami Dolphins do not have an elite defense. Josh Allen has owned the Miami Dolphins. The Bills have a seven-game winning streak against the Miami Dolphins which have all been won under Josh Allen.

Buffalo also has one of the best receivers in the NFL. Stefon Diggs has been a nightmare for defenses since he joined the team. He is currently number two in receiving yards with 270 yards after dismantling the Los Angeles Rams and Tennessee Titans. Even with the emerging Gabe Davis out this week, the Bills still have great depth at the receiving position. Isaiah McKenzie will showcase his versatile abilities.

The Bills also have Dawson Knox, Khalil Shakir, Jameson Crowder, and Jake Kumerow who will have significant roles in this game. The running game with Devin Singletary, Zack Moss, and James Cook will have plenty of opportunities to keep the first downs coming and the game clocks running. When you are a team that has been ranked second in 2020 and third in offense in 2021 plus your team is currently number one with their new offensive coordinator in Ken Dorsey. You definitely should “Billieve” what you have been shown.

Coaching And Continuity

Buffalo currently has one of the best coaches and general managers in the NFL Sean McDermott and Brandon Beane. These guys are responsible for the elevation of this organization. Since Sean McDermott has been the coach, Buffalo has seen the playoffs four of five seasons. They have been successful with a variety of players. We have seen what the Bills can do when they add to what their team already has.

The continuity isn’t as important as the coaching aspect but our sample size of what we’ve seen is big enough to believe that Sean McDermott has the edge against Mike McDaniel when it comes to coaching. Let’s not take away what Mike McDaniel has done in two games which makes this match up a very interesting contest. But let’s be clear, interesting doesn’t mean in one’s league. We should Sean McDermott to make the correct decisions on Sunday to be victorious.
