Ravens Bad Memories Against The Saints In 2018

Now at 5-3 and coming off a bye, the Ravens are heading down to New Orleans to face the Saints for Monday Night Football. Baltimore can only hope that this game won’t resemble their failures of the 2018 matchup.

2018 Saints at Ravens

The 2018 game started in a very boring fashion. After a scoreless 1st quarter, the Ravens barely outplayed the Saints in the second quarter to have a 10-7 lead. In the third quarter, Joe Flacco hit Mark Andrews for a touchdown to go up 17-7. Although the Ravens had far from a perfect game, it seemed as if the contest would spill out in a Baltimore victory.

Things took a turn in the opposite direction quickly as Alvin Kamara ran in on a touchdown, followed by a Michael Thomas score. With only a few minutes left and down 21-17, the Ravens began a steady drive downfield in need of a touchdown. After some completions and a fortunate pass interference call, the Ravens at the ball at the New Orleans 36-yard-line. On 4th & 6, Joe Flacco threw an incomplete pass intended for Willie Snead.

The Saints retained the ball back and drove down the field to score a field goal on the ensuing drive. But Never count Joe Flacco out. In response to the 24-17 deficit, Flacco threw six straight completion passes, the last of which was a touchdown pass to John Brown. The Ravens had tied it up barring a missed extra point.

But that extra point opportunity was taken for granted. Among the crazy winds, Justin Tucker was wide right in his extra point attempt. Although being one of the greatest kickers in the history of the NFL, Tucker couldn’t make the kick when it mattered most.

Baltimore’s looking to shake off those memories and take down the Saints for a four-year revenge.
