The Eagles look to extend their eight-game winning streak this Monday night against the division-rival Washington Commanders. Which players will be out of the game due to injury for both teams in this NFC East showdown?

Eagles Cornerback Woes
The Philadelphia Eagles will be without two Cornerbacks per Saturday’s injury report. Avonte Maddox and Josh Jobe deal with lower body injuries and, therefore, will miss the matchup against Washington. The Eagles have been banged up for most of the season at this position, and this week is no different.
Maddox is dealing with a hamstring injury. The fifth-year defensive back from the University of Pittsburgh missed practice this past Thursday and Friday. Per Head Coach Nick Sirianni, fellow defensive back Josiah Scott, who was also on Friday’s injury report dealing with an ankle injury of his own, is a prime candidate to step in for Maddox. Maddox missed the week four game against the Minnesota Vikings and the week five game against the Arizona Cardinals as he nursed an ankle injury.
Jobe is in a similar situation to Maddox and will not play on Monday night. Jobe is nursing a hamstring injury of his own, and he, too, missed practice this past Thursday and Friday. The rookie undrafted free agent out of Alabama has played sparingly in his first season with the Eagles. Jobe missed the week six game against the Dallas Cowboys and the week eight matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers as he rehabbed a shoulder injury.
It is safe to assume that the Eagles will look to their practice squad and elevate a player or two to replace Maddox and Jobe. The three names to watch regarding elevations are Cornerbacks Mario Goodrich, Mac McCain III, and the newly signed Javelin Guidry.
Goodrich is a UDFA out of the University of Clemson. McCain III has bounced around with the Eagles’ active roster and practice squad since last season. Guidry was just signed to the Eagles practice squad this week following stints with the Arizona Cardinals, Las Vegas Raiders, Arizona Cardinals, and New York Jets. Guidry has played in 28 games for New York, racking up 70 tackles, four forced fumbles, and three pass deflections in two years.
Eagles IR Updates And Reminders
Defensive Tackle Jordan Davis remains on injured reserve following his ankle injury. Davis suffered the injury in the final minutes of a week eight win against the Houston Texans. Davis was subsequently placed on short-term injured reserve and is scheduled to come off IR in week 13.
Tight End Tyree Jackson, recovering from a torn ACL suffered in the preseason, had his 21-day practice window opened last week. The former Buffalo Bills Quarterback turned Tight End could be activated from this practice window soon. The Philadelphia Eagles front office is very high on Jackson. The six-foot-seven, 250-pound athlete looks to make an impact as both a receiver and blocker upon his return to the active roster.
Defensive End Janarius Robinson continues to recover from the ankle injury he suffered during practice in week 6. Robinson signed with Philadelphia following the loss of Derek Barnett to a season-ending ACL injury.

Washington Banged Up
Running back J.D. McKissic has been ruled out for the Commanders with an ongoing neck injury. McKissic missed last week’s game against the Minnesota Vikings. The Commanders will continue using running backs Brian Robinson and Antonio Gibson in place of McKissic’s injury.
The Commanders defense will be without Linebackers Cole Holcomb and David Mayo. Holcomb has been a mainstay of the Commanders’ linebacking core, racking up 69 tackles so far in the 2022 season, but will miss the Monday night game with a foot injury. Fellow Linebacker David Mayo will also miss the game as he deals with a hamstring injury.
The Commanders offensive line has been a question all season. With both backup Center Tyler Larsen and Guard Andrew Norwell listed as questionable for Monday night’s game, it puts reserves Nick Martin and Saahdiq Charles in line to start in their places. The Commanders are already without starting Center Chase Roullier, veteran Guard Wes Schweitzer, and Guard Willie Beavers, who are on all IR.
Washington’s Injured Reserve Listing Growing
In addition to Rouiller, Schweitzer, and Beavers, Washington is without starting Quarterback Carson Wentz. The former Eagles number two overall pick in the 2016 draft is dealing with a finger injury. Additionally, Tight End Curtis Hodges, Defensive Tackle Phildarian Mathis, Cornerback Tariq Castro-Fields, and Linebacker Milo Eifler are also on IR. Lastly, as the Commanders deal with a rash of injuries on both sides of the ball, star Defensive End Chase Young should be coming off IR very soon.
Outside of the Cornerback position, this Philadelphia Eagles roster is entirely healthy. Ahead of a divisional matchup on Monday Night Football with the rival Washington Commanders, the Eagles may need to dip into the reserves to fortify the defense’s back end. As Avonte Maddox and Josh Jobe recover from injuries, look for other defensive backs to carry the load for the Eagles on Monday night.
Washington will be without a few key players in the second level. J.D. McKissic is a significant loss for the Commanders as well. Philadelphia will capitalize on a weak offensive line with its top-ranked rushing attack to improve to 9-0 on the season.
