It’s Time For This Former Patriots Coach To Return in 2023.

The 2022 NFL season will go down as one of the most nonsensical seasons in recent history, and the Patriots are no exception. It’s the 2007 college football season of the NFL. The amount of hype specific teams had entering the season seems laughable now. Remember when the AFC West has crowned the most competitive division before Week 1? How’s that working out?

I loved the Raiders in the preseason. Their offense became a juggernaut with the addition of Devante Adams. Maxx Crosby and Chandler Jones added more power to the defense. Josh McDaniels was the cherry on top. But, unfortunately, the Vegas climate has melted the sundae.

The Josh McDaniels Head Coaching Experience needs to be put to an end. It was fun while it lasted, but enough is enough. Sunday’s disaster against the Colts should prove one thing, McDaniels needs to go. The Raiders disagreed with the champ, informing the Athletic that McDaniels would be the head coach in 2023. The experiment needs to end now!

Josh McDaniels Has More Success As the Patriots OC Than An HC

The Broncos hired Josh McDaniels in 2009. He won his first six games as a head coach, even putting one over on the Patriots and mentor, Bill Belichick. But, since that infamous fist bump, it has been downhill. It takes more than just Xs and O’s to be a head coach. If you do not have the support of the boys in the locker room. Don’t believe me? Ask Matthew Stafford why he did not want to be traded to the Patriots in 2021.

The best coordinators only sometimes make the best head coaches. For example, Vic Fangio made a career as a legendary defensive coordinator. He earned his first head coaching job as a young sixty-year-old. He lasted a couple of seasons before retreating to the coordinator’s table. The Raiders team stats are pretty decent, too. They’re just in the middle of the pack, coasting. But, again, it comes down to decision-making.

The best head coaches make difficult decisions look flawless. Belichick’s entire career has been winning the mental game against his opponents. His halftime adjustments won him championships. McDaniels may need to review that chapter.

Josh McDaniels Belongs In The Patriots Coaching System

The Patriots hit their peak when Josh McDaniels called offensive plays. But, since he left for Vegas, the offense took a nose dive. Mac looks frightened in the pocket. The offensive line resembles empty trash barrels. If it were not for leading scorers Nick Folk and Rhomandre Stevenson, the defense would be the primary source of points.

The blame falls on Matt Patricia. The defensive coordinator turned offensive swiss army knife cannot call the right play. Mac sits in the pocket, waiting for a receiver to open before scrambling for the first. When he hits the lottery on a play call, it is ruined by the offensive line acting like a matador.

Fans are quick to throw Jones under the bus, but do they remember what Mac Jones played like in a McDaniels offense? He broke franchise records and landed himself in the final Pro Bowl game.

Josh McDaniels Belongs On The Patriots’ Sidelines

There are so many famous duos throughout history. Batman had Robin. The red M&M needed the yellow one. McDaniels needs Belichick. Nothing has been the same since March 2020. McDaniels felt like the only one of the second dynasty to remain loyal to the Krafts. I understand that he needed to explore this opportunity one last time.

The door begins to shut during his time as a head coach. So why not come back and help usher in a new era in Patriots football with the team that gave him everything? The team that he helped build into a double dynasty.

It’s time to come home, Josh.
