Prescott Shines As Cowboys Maul Buccaneers 31-14

Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers fall to the Dallas Cowboys 31-14 in the Super Wild Card weekend. The future of Tom Brady remains unknown. Will he retire?

Buccaneers

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers had one of their worst games following winning their last two winning the NFC South (8-9). Tom Brady has been a mirror of himself, and his career could be coming to an end.

The Dallas Cowboys ended their losing streak against Tom Brady after going (0-8) against him in his career. It’s a massive win for the Dallas Cowboys, and their playoff hopes are still alive. On the other hand, what’s next for TB12?

Tom Brady has been to 14 consecutive playoffs. His dominance in the league is like no other, and no one can compare to the things Brady has done throughout his NFL career.

With nothing left to prove, no one knows what’s next for the seven rings Lombardi holder as his tenures in Tampa Bay could end. Whether Brady retires or not, he’s shown poise and solidified himself as the greatest of all time, other known as the GOAT in NFL history.

The Buccaneers’ Inconsistency Continues

The Dallas Cowboys outplayed the Buccaneers, with both teams barely rolling in the first quarter. Dak Prescott finally came alive, finding Dalton Schultz in the end zone halfway through the first quarter. Tampa’s defense was scrambling over the field and couldn’t stop Prescott’s magnificence. However, no one should be surprised; this is how their season played out the inconsistency.

The Buccaneers’ inconsistency came back and bit them in the butt. The defense was terrible, and the offense was just as bad. Tom Brady couldn’t connect with his wide receivers and was traumatized by Dak Prescott, who seemingly had the best game of his career as a Cowboy.

Dak Raynes On Tom Brady

Dak Prescott couldn’t have played better. He finished the game with 25 of 33 completions for 305 yards, four touchdown passes, and one rushing touchdown, with a completion rating of (75.8) and a passer rating of (143.3).

Prescott not throwing interceptions was huge. He’s thrown at least one since week twelve in the regular season throughout seven games. Still, he remained flawless against a Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense that couldn’t figure it out.

On the other hand, Tom Brady looked lost, completing 35 of 66 pass attempts for 351 yards, two touchdowns, and an interception. His passer rating was less than subpar (72.2), tied for the worst in a playoff game and his 11th-worst among his 48 career postseason games. Not to mention, Brady didn’t score in the first half of a playoff game for the first time since his rookie season in 2001.

Tom’s Playing Dirty!

While trailing 24-0 in the third quarter, Buccaneers receiver Chris Godwin fumbled a nine-yard reception. The Buccaneers quarterback attempted to slide tackle Malik Hooker, S, who was returning a fumble recovery in Monday night’s game, which ultimately led to the call that got reversed. “Of course,” said Shannon Sharpe. “Tom Brady out here playing dirty” with a facepalm emoji, which doesn’t look too well for the Veteran QB.

Brady was getting a lot of criticism not only for his atrocious game but for that play alone. It was a dirty play, and you could tell it was intentional. Many say that Brady deserved a red flag, let alone a penalty flag, but he got away with it. However, the Cowboys rendered justice in an old-fashioned, rump-rambling beatdown.

Leftwich’s Downfall Ends in Termination

After falling flat to Dak Prescott, and the Cowboys’ the Bucs have to make some quick decisions. Per Pewter Report, the Buccaneers are parting ways with OC Byron Leftwich, who’s been the offensive coordinator since 2019.

Leftwich was hanging on a thin line because he was supposed to be gone before the season ended. Still, since the Bucs had a chance of winning the NFC South, which they eventually did, his job was intact.

There’s no telling what this move means for Leftwich, but the Bucs should be happy that he’s gone. The offensive struggles have been awkward enough. The team averaged 77 rushing yards per game after exploiting defensive units in 2020 with their potent rushing attack.

According to Pewter Report, “potential replacements for Leftwich at offensive coordinator include Georgia offensive coordinator Todd Monken, Alabama offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien (who used to be the Houston Texans head coach), and former Indianapolis Colts head coach Frank Reich.”

Tom Brady may be joining Leftwich, leaving the Tampa Bay Buccaneers organization after his 23rd NFL season. The 45-year-old vet will have to decide whether he hangs up his cleats or makes records with a new team. Whatever his decision is, it’s evident that he’s declining but still finding ways to solidify his greatness as the top QB in NFL history.
