Ladies and Gentlemen, we have had back-to-back sweeps over the last two NBA articles and there’s another article with red hot props on the press for tonight. To recap the NBA article from January 25, the following plays hit: Ja Morant over 36.5 points plus assists, Stephen Curry under 39.5 points plus assists plus rebounds, and Giannis Antetokounmpo over 29.5 points. Morant’s line looked like it was going to fall well short at halftime as both teams were committing several turnovers and not scoring much. Well, he turned on the jets and finished with a total of 41, blasting by his 36.5 NBA player prop.
Stephen Curry was a nail-biter. With 1:14 left in the fourth quarter, Curry threw his mouthpiece while jogging down the court and was ejected from the game. He only needed one point, rebound, or assist to ruin this play but his ejection saved our day. He finished at 39. Giannis was another play that looked like it was going to fail at halftime as he was under ten points. Thanks to the fouls and a few extra baskets, Giannis squeaked over with 33 points. Jayson Tatum 30+ Points -130
This is an alternate line for Jayson Tatum, most books have it at over 30.5 points. Tatum and the Boston Celtics will host the New York Knicks tonight. Tatum is averaging 31 points per game this season, one of the main reasons I went with 30-plus points, that half-point buffer might be needed if this becomes a blowout. Over his last five games, he has hit this line in four of them. Even with the line hovering around eight points in favor of the Celtics, this should be a game long enough for Tatum to capitalize.
One key thing to mention is that New York’s seven-foot NBA center, Mitchell Robinson, will not play tonight due to his fractured thumb. Tatum has scored at least 30 points over 17 of his last 21 starts at home. Since the big man got injured on January 18 against the Washington Wizards, the team has given up 139 points to the Atlanta Hawks, 125 to the Toronto Raptors, and 105 to the Cleveland Cavaliers. During that stretch, they have gone 1-2. I would play this to 31 points but that’s it.
Chris Paul Over 9.5 Assists +105
Chris Paul and the Phoenix Suns will host the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA primetime slot tonight. The suns will be without Devin Booker but that won’t stop Chris from passing the ball. Earlier this month he ran into a hip injury that held him out of seven straight games. Since his return, he’s had two straight games with 11 assists and no minutes reduction. Without Booker, Paul should be on the court for at least 30 minutes.
In his 28 games this NBA season, he’s averaging 8.5 assists per game, one off from the line. Over his last six games against the Mavericks, he’s been averaging 11.5 assists per game and has hit this line four of the last six times. In the two games that he missed, he ended with nine assists. He has the potential for 15-plus assists any given night, just depends on how the game is played out and when the stat trackers grant his assists.
Bojan Bogdanovic Over 21.5 Points -110
Bogdanovic and the Detroit Pistons will travel to Brooklyn to face the Nets. The Nets will be playing for the second straight day and might be a little tired after their close loss to the Philadelphia 76ers last night. With another losing NBA season in the books for the Pistons, they are going into each NBA game as if they are starting 0-0 in the season. The Pistons stuck with the Milwaukee Bucks for three quarters on January 23rd and lost by a score of 150 to 130.
Bojan Bogdanovic, at the age of 33, is leading the team in games played, minutes per game, and points per game. He is averaging 21.5 points per game, which just so happens to be the line for tonight’s game. Over the last ten games, he has surpassed this line in six of them along with two games with 21 points. In his last four games, he has posted at least 22 points and should make it five in a row tonight. Isaiah Stewart and Isaiah Livers are both questionable tonight. If they are forced to miss, the Pistons will be playing with a short bench again which will drive Bojan’s minutes to 30-plus.
NBA Player Performance Doubles Parlay +652
Jayson Tatum 30-plus Points/Boston to Win
Nikola Vucevic Double Double/Chicago to Win
Jarrett Allen 15-plus Points/Cleveland to Win
Jayson Tatum scoring over 30 points is one of the best bets today, check the explanation above for why this is the best bet. The Celtics will be at home against the Knicks and are 1-2 without their star big man Mitchell Robinson. The Celtics have an 18-5 record in front of the home court crowd and are 8-2 over the last ten games. The Knicks are 14-10 when playing away and are 5-5 over their last ten games. The Celtics dominate the stats column with higher points per game, the pace of play, field goal percentage, and free throw percentage.
The Chicago Bulls travel to Charlotte to play the Hornets. The Hornets have been awful this year, especially at home. The Bulls have a better away record than the Hornets do at home. Both teams are on losing streaks but the Hornets might be without LaMelo Ball due to an ankle injury and Terry Rozier due to an illness. Vucevic is a beast on the floor as a 6’10” NBA center. He’s averaging 17.4 points per game and 11.1 rebounds per game. Besides January 24th, the last time he was without a double-double was on December 30th and it was by one rebound.
The Cleveland Cavaliers will be away in Houston to play the Rockets. The Rockets are another team on the losing end of this parlay as they have the NBA’s worst record this season and that shouldn’t change tonight. The Rockets will be without Eric Gordon, Kevin Porter, and Jae’Sean Tate. Jarrett Allen is averaging 14 points per game but he will be up against 20-year-old center Alperen Sengun tonight. When Jarrett gets at least ten rebounds in a game, he has scored over 15 points in six out of ten games. I’ll take a 60 percent chance over an injured team starting a 20-year-old center.
