Duke Just Won The College Basketball Offseason With This Latest Decision

This Duke player had a major announcement on Tuesday moring.

Duke

March Madness ended over a week ago, and it is time for players to put their names in the NBA Draft conversation. Last year, Duke and some promising freshmen players and two already put their names in the NBA draft, Dereck Lively and Dariq Whitehead.

Two Freshman said they would return to school in Tyrese Proctor and Mark Mitchell, but the entire Duke fanbase was waiting for one more freshman to decide his plans for next season.

Huge News In Durham

Kyle Filipowski, the seventh-best player in the 2022 class according to ESPN 100, announced on Tuesday morning that he will not enter the NBA Draft and will return to Duke for his Sophomore season.

Filipowski was a projected lottery pick, but he wanted to forget the NBA and build something special at Duke. Filipowski was the ACC freshman of the year and finished on the All-ACC Second Team.

Next Year Can’t Come Soon Enough

The Blue Devils will be one of the best teams in college basketball next season, and I wouldn’t be shocked if they were the preseason number one team.

Getting Filipowski, Mitchell, and Proctor to return to school was a massive win for the Blue Devils. The Blue Devils will also welcome four new first-year students from the ESPN 100 list.

Head coach Jon Scheyer will enter his second season as the man in charge, and the team will be way ahead of schedule than recent Duke teams have been the previous seasons.

Usually, at a program like Duke, every one of their top players leave, and they have to start all over again with five to seven guys the next year, but that will not be the case this upcoming season.

I expect Duke to make a run-in next year’s March Madness, and next year’s season could be very magical.
