The NFL Playoffs are in full swing and we are down to the Elite Eight. With only four games this weekend, the path to Super Bowl LIX is getting slimmer. Who moves on to the championship round?

Houston Texans @ Kansas City Chiefs

The Chiefs are the Super Bowl favorites going into the NFL's divisional round.
The Chiefs are the Super Bowl favorites going into the NFL’s divisional round.

The Texans’ defense showed up and showed out against the Chargers last week. Derek Stingley was a ballhawk, hauling in two of Justin Herbert’s four interceptions. The defense’s fire burned into the offense and CJ Stroud found his confidence again.

The Chiefs are coming off a round one bye week, and Patrick Mahomes hasn’t hit the field since Christmas. KC is well rested and ready to go for this, but they’re not the juggernaut they should be. Only five of their 15 wins have been by more than seven points.

This game should be a huge defensive battle. KC’s defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is a magician, while the Texans are full of raw and hungry talent. The Texans have every chance to pull off the upset here, but Kansas City seems destined for a three-peat. It’ll take a powerhouse to beat them.

Winner: Chiefs

Washington Commanders @ Detroit Lions

With David Montgomery's return on the horizon, the Lions' offense could be dominant on Saturday night.
With David Montgomery’s return on the horizon, the Lions’ offense could be dominant on Saturday night.

Speaking of powerhouses, the Detroit Lions steamrolled their way to a first-round bye and they needed it. The Lions have been riddled with injuries, yet they’re winning games through sheer will. They love to hit the gas and never let up, which is unfortunate for their opponent.

The Commanders are impressive in every sense of the word. Jayden Daniels is a certified franchise QB, and the team won their first playoff game in two decades. The issue here is, they have a habit of starting slow and heating up late. They’ve won several games this year, including last week, in the waning seconds.

The Commanders will make this competitive, but the Lions are a different beast. If Detroit hits the ground running and takes a substantial lead, the Commanders won’t be able to work their fourth-quarter magic. Detroit has been waiting for this moment, and this is on their turf.

Winner: Lions

Los Angeles Rams @ Philadelphia Eagles

The Eagles are on an absolute tear right now, can anyone stop them?

The Rams pleasantly surprised fans on Monday night by not only defeating the 14-3 Vikings but dismantling them. Matt Stafford threw for 209 yards and two touchdowns, while LA’s defense recorded an absurd nine sacks.

The Rams will need an elite defensive line for the Eagles this week. Saquon Barkley managed 119 rushing yards last week in a 22-10 victory over the Packers. Philly’s defense tallied three interceptions and forced three fumbles.

Matt Stafford looks like his old self again, but the Eagles are a dominant team. This might be a surprisingly close game on Sunday, but as long as Philly has Saquon Barkley, it’s hard to bet against them.

Winner: Eagles

Baltimore Ravens @ Buffalo Bills

James Cook had a great game last week, tallying 120 rushing yards and a touchdown.

The Ravens picked the Steelers apart in the wild-card round. The 28-14 score felt much larger than that, and Baltimore outclassed their opponent in every way. Lamar Jackson and Derrick Henry are an unbelievable duo to see this year. The only concern with the Ravens was their inability to score more than one touchdown in the second half.

The Bills dominated the Broncos in a 31-7 victory. Denver managed one score before the Bills put up 31 straight points. Josh Allen and James Cook ran the offense to perfection and the Bills looked like a bonafide Super Bowl contender.

Both of these teams have been lights out, and there is no clear winner for the final divisional game. The last time these two met in week four, the Bills lost 35-10. This time things are different, and they don’t want to be swept by the Ravens. This will be a close game down to the wire, but the Bills should sneak out with the win.

Winner: Bills
