The NFL Combine has officially concluded, and there were a ton of prospects that participated to better their NFL Draft stock. There are a lot of players that raised their stocks at the combine. For the next few days, every position will be looked at, and there will be three players who will be ranked as the highest risers. The next position will be at cornerback.

Darien Porter (Iowa State)

nfl draft, cornerback

One of the many key traits for a cornerback that often gets overlooked is size. Darien Porter has the size, standing 6 feet 3 inches. The true test for Porter to raise his stock was to showcase his athleticism by putting up good numbers. Well, Porter didn’t just put up good numbers, he put up fantastic numbers at the combine

The one word to describe Porter’s performance is speed. His 40-yard dash confirmed that when he registered a time of 4.3 seconds. That was the 3rd fastest time from any participant in the draft, and he was ranked 2nd fastest cornerback. At least Porter was the best-performing cornerback at the 10-yard split time, with 1.49 seconds. That is not even getting into his jumping numbers, including his 10’11” broad jump and 36.5-inch vertical jump. Porter raised his draft stock with his combine results, that is for sure.

Trey Amos (Ole Miss)

For many months, I have labeled Trey Amos as a 1st/2nd round prospect in this draft class. Heck, I had him drafted by the Buffalo Bills in my mock draft in February. After what analysts and scouts saw at the combine, don’t be surprised to see more 1st/2nd round grades in scouting reports.

Trey Amos has the size that you want in a cornerback, at 6’1″. A big concern many had was regarding his speed and athleticism. Those concerns are no longer needed, as he had a 40-yard dash time of 4.43 seconds, which was one of the top 10 fastest times. Along with a 1.6-second 10-yard split, and a broad jump of 10’6”, he woke a lot of scouts and analysts up with his performance. A strong combine raised his draft stock for the 2025 NFL Draft.

Maxwell Hairston (Kentucky)

Whenever a player runs a 4.28 on the 40-yard dash, and leads all participants in that category, their draft stock automatically rises. Maxwell Hairston did that, and it helps that he was also in the top 3 of both the broad jump at 10’9” and vertical jump at 39.5″. Hairston is a very athletic cornerback, and he proved that today. In a pretty stacked cornerback prospect class, Hairston stood out from the pack at the combine.
