After witnessing his son Erling Haaland being ridiculed numerous times during Manchester City’s 5-1 loss against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium, Alfie Haaland took a direct jab at the Gunners. The Gunners took a stronghold at second place in the Premier League table, six points behind league leader Liverpool.
Gabriel Magalhaes Vs. Erling Haaland: A Fueled Rivalry
Gabriel Magalhaes and Erling Haaland have been contending with the ferocity of the game for a good two or three seasons now, and the Brazilian has finally got the upper hand. Gabriel targeted the Norwegian with an eccentric gesture after Arsenal were up within 2 minutes of the game. The Brazilian center half laughed in the face of Haaland, to which the striker had no answer.
Arsenal gained momentum as the game progressed and destroyed Manchester City with a 5-1 victory. Adding to the heated rivalry, 17-year-old Myles Lewis-Skelly poured more salt on Pep Guardiola’s wounds by scoring a stunning goal and mocking Haaland with his celebration. The full-back sat in a meditation pose, a trademark of the Norwegian from the City striker’s Borussia Dortmund days. It perfectly responded to Gabriel’s fiery exchanges with Haaland throughout the match, further fueling the growing tension.
Kendrick Lamar’s “Humble” track was played inside the Emirates to spice things up even more. The track references the Norwegian telling Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta to stay humble following a 2-2 draw back in September. The Gunners were close to victory with ten men, but John Stones’s equalizer denied that.
“Ehhhh Not,” Shared Erling Haaland’s Father
Alfie Haaland couldn’t take his son, who was continuously targeted by the Arsenal community on and off the pitch. He gave a pretty fiery response to one of the Gunners’ post-match social media shares. Alfie shared the caption: “This Team that wins everything. Ehhhhh, not.”
He indicated that his son has basically won everything in just three years at Manchester City, and the last trophy Arsenal won was the FA Cup back in 2020. The Gunners will next be up against Newcastle United in the League Cup second leg. They currently trail 2-0 after the home leg.
End Of Rant
Manchester City and Erling Haaland hope to recover as soon as possible from this weekend’s trauma against Leyton Orient in a fourth-round clash away from home in the FA Cup. Pep Guardiola’s instant response to the defeat was the €60M recruit of Nico Gonzalez from FC Porto to bring their nightmare season back on track.
