This weekend, everyone will be tuning in to see the top 16 seeds unveiled during the bracket reveal, continuing a March Madness tradition that has been in place since 2017.
SEC Will Be Represented
Regarding the reveal on Saturday, the SEC is the conference to watch. Many believe that, according to various bracketologists, the SEC will play a significant role in the early bracket reveal, potentially securing three or even four one seeds.

112 teams have appeared in the NCAA's Top 16 reveal since its 2017 debut.

18 of those teams (16.1%) failed to be in the Top 16 on Selection Sunday.
'17 Virginia (3-seed -> 5-seed)
'18 Clemson (3-seed -> 5-seed)
'18 Ohio State (4-seed -> 5-seed)
'18 Oklahoma (4-seed -> 10-seed)…
The SEC has clearly distinguished itself as the top conference this season for a reason, showcasing an impressive array of strong teams from the top of the standings all the way down to the middle of the pack.
In many recent years, the SEC has faced challenges in the NCAA tournament regarding team invitations. However, this season could be different, as there’s a possibility that 13 or even 14 teams might secure spots in the big dance, marking a historic moment for the conference.
Not In The Top 16?
Just because the team you cheer for doesn’t make the Top 16 Saturday doesn’t mean they are out of the conversation. Plus, it’s still February, and there’s a chance for teams to make runs and boost their resumes until March. Many games are still to be played before we start the March Madness.
For many college basketball fans, this is the Super Bowl before the Super Bowl. It’s a chance for teams and fans to see where they stand before the big dance starts. It’s one of the greatest times of the year, and for some, it’s an opportunity to take off work and use those sick days for some college basketball frenzy.
History Matters
As we look into the bracket reveal, we’ve noticed some trends, both positive and negative. According to David Worlock, 84 percent of teams featured in the bracket preview have remained on the top four seed lines in the final bracket.
Good sign? The other positive indicator is that if you are not on the top four lines, you still have a chance to improve your standing during conference play and work your way up as the season heads into its final stretch.

Somber Part Of March Madness
The one thing that’ll be missing this season in March Madness —and for years to come—will be the voice of Greg Gumbel. His iconic voice has always been part of the stories and fun that make March special.
Nothing like this man starting off March with that angelic voice & tone. Won’t be the same without GG🫶 https://t.co/5FGGAVMgRG pic.twitter.com/ycx3WGHTBm

His iconic voice and sayings, along with his ability to bring moments and stories to the fans, are going to be deeply missed. This loss will impact not only the media and those who worked with him, but also the fans and people who grew up with him and his memorable broadcasts. Greg lost his battle with cancer back in December.
Going to Miss you, Greg!
