There is no doubt that NFL wide receiver Cooper Kupp will go down as one of the greatest Rams ever, but time waits for no man. After eight years with the organization, Los Angeles has officially released Kupp, replacing him with wide receiver Devante Adams quickly. The former Super Bowl MVP has spent his eight-year career with the Rams, but injuries and a steady decline in yardage are enough for Los Angeles to move on. Plenty of teams are still in the market for a receiver, but are they willing to take on the injury risks that come with Kupp, and at what cost?
No. 1 NFL Rumor – New England Patriots
The New England Patriots continue to be mentioned around Kupp’s name. With quarterback Drake Maye flashing what he is capable of near the end of last season, the Patriots have made plenty of moves this offseason. They could use both a wide receiver, and a veteran, to help this re-bolstered team make a push.
No. 2 NFL Rumor – Settle Seahawks
The Seattle Seahawks had a massive turnover this offseason, including trading their starting quarterback and letting one receiver go, which made another request a trade out. The Seahawks will be in rebuilding mode this season, and taking a flyer on a Super Bowl-winning veteran could be worth the risk for Seattle. Regardless, the Seahawks have to make a move for a receiver, and Kupp is one of the better options available.
No. 3 NFL Rumor – New York Jets
The New York Jets are trying to move on from the drama of quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Losing wide receiver Davante Adams, the team will need more than receiver Garrett Wilson for their new quarterback to work with. Wilson and Kupp would make a solid top-two for quarterback Justin Fields.
End Of My NFL Rumors Rant
Some less likely rumors include the Minnesota Vikings, Dallas Cowboys, and Pittsburgh Steelers. While Kupp has had quite the career, the injuries are catching up, and his production is declining. Which team needs a receiver and is willing to take the risk? He can still be depended on for 700-800 yards, right?
