The San Francisco 49ers will host the LA Rams in the Week 15 edition of NFL Thursday Night Football. This NFC West matchup has colossal playoff implications, with both teams fighting to make the playoffs despite some of the most prominent injury hurdles this season. With only two games separating the top and bottom of the NFC Wes,t there will be plenty on the line Thursday night.
The Los Angeles Rams come into this game at 7-6, which is good enough for second place in the NFC West. They are winners of three of the last four games, including a massive 44-point showing the previous week against the Bills. The offense has looked better since the return of superstar wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua, who have aided to an average above 28 points per game over the last three. The problem has largely been the defense, which has allowed an average above 28 points per game this season and, even worse, 31 over the last three.
San Francisco enters this game at 6-7, which lands them fourth in the NFC West but only two games back of the division-leading Seattle Seahawks. The 49ers have good underlying yardage stats that rank them in the top five on offense and defense, but they do not match the expected win totals. Injury troubles combined with a lack of finish in the red zone are two of the most significant issues this season for the 49ers.

The Rams are outscoring San Francisco over the last few weeks but still have a lower average scoring margin. The 49ers clearly have the better defense, but their offense is beat up and averaged below 20 points per game over the last three.
