Inter Miami have got their hands on a complementary piece to Lionel Messi in Haitian striker Fafa Picault, who was a free agent. The signing was announced by the club on Tuesday. The 33-year-old forward has signed a one-year contract with an option to extend it for another year. He will be partnering with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez upfront for the upcoming season.

Inter Miami announced the signing with a club statement, “We’re excited to welcome Fafa to Inter Miami CF,” said president of football operations Raúl Sanllehí. “We believe that his pace, skill, and proven MLS track record can bring valuable quality and experience to our front lines.
“We’re looking forward to having him with us to enhance our attacking options as we aim for success across multiple competitions in 2025.”
New Strike Partner For Lionel Messi
Lionel Messi will have a new partner in the Inter Miami frontline. The Haitian International has contributed 84 goals in 224 MLS appearances. The 33-year-old can be remembered as a cult hero in the MLS, spending seven years after two years with German Club St. Pauli. He played for FC Dallas, Houston Dynamo FC, Nashville SC, Vancouver, and Philadelphia Union.
The player is excited to become a part of Javier Mascherano’s Inter Miami and states, “I’m deeply honored to join an ambitious club like Inter Miami CF. Representing this badge and playing for the incredible fan base this organization has built locally, nationally, and internationally is a dream come true. I’m eager to meet my teammates and work together toward a historic 2025 campaign,” Picault said.
“Returning to South Florida – a place I proudly call home – gives me the chance to be closer to my family and childhood friends while bringing excitement to this passionate fútbol community. This opportunity is truly special, and I’m eager to make history with this team.” Exciting times for Inter Miami fans for the upcoming season.
What’s Next For Inter Miami?
The Herons will be aiming to compete at the highest level next season, as well as with new head coach Javier Mascherano, who knows some of the names on the team inside out. Their first match in the new campaign is against Sporting Kansas City on Feb 18 in the Concacaf Champions Cup.
The MLS season for the Herons begins on 22nd Feb vs New York City FC. As record-setting supporters shield champions last year, Picault can play a big role in the club’s efforts to improve in the Audi 2025 MLS Cup after a disappointing round-one exit last season.
End Of Rant
Inter Miami are certainly one of the favorites heading into 2025 yet again, and now, with the quality and MLS experience of Fafa Picault, they’d be looking to bag the lot this time. For more fearless sports coverage, visit Stadium Rant.
