Alabama Football endured what many consider a disappointing campaign in 2024. Let’s explore the ways Alabama can return to form in the future.
Buy Into Kalen DeBoer
Many Alabama fans were calling for Kalen DeBoer’s job after the Crimson Tide struggled throughout the 2024 season which culminated in a 19-13 loss to Michigan in the Relia-Quest Bowl. After a decade-plus of dominating College Football with Nick Saban at the helm, the Tide found themselves on the outside looking in, and the fans voiced their displeasure.
The Alabama faithful will soon learn their anger was unfounded. Kalen DeBoer has amassed a 46-13 record as a college football head coach and has proven to be a successful recruiter (Alabama currently has the second-ranked recruiting class according to CBS Sports).
With a full offseason to implement his scheme, Coach Deboer will show all of the doubters why he is the right man to take Alabama Football back to the Promised Land.
Embrace The LANK Mentality
Jalen Milroe brought prominence to the phrase “Let A Naysayer Know” at the University of Alabama. It is a phrase the Tide should continue to embrace even after Milroe takes his talents to the NFL.
The entire off-season will be filled with the narrative that Alabama cannot win without Nick Saban. The Crimson Tide should use this as bulletin board material moving forward.
Is the College Football World Ready for an Alabama team with a chip on its shoulder?
Maintain the Alabama Football Standard
Since 2009 Alabama has won six National Champions. With that type of pedigree comes a certain standard to be expected.
Nick Saban emphasized the importance of preparation and execution as often as he could. Whether the score was 0-0 or 50-0 he never wavered in upholding the standard. DeBoer needs to bring that same intensity to his Alabama teams.
Too often in 2024 Alabama looked underprepared and allowed their emotions to get the best of them. If Kalen DeBoer can help his players perform up to the Alabama Standard the wins will take care of themselves with the talent involved.
End Of My College Football Rant:
I have heard it said that you don’t panic until they stop storming the field when they beat you. While Alabama may not be at that point yet, they cannot afford to continue trending in the direction they went this season. Look for Alabama to bounce back in a big way next season and to be back in contention for the National Championship.
