Bayern Munich youngster Mathys Tel gave a massive hint of a potential exit in the coming days. When he was substituted in the recent Champions League game, the youngster waved to the Munich fans in what appeared to be a farewell gesture.

A Rare Start For Bayern Munich Forward

Mathys Tel was handed a rare start by Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany in their final UEFA Champions League group phase encounter against Slovan Bratislava, which they won 3-1. The French didn’t contribute to any goal or assist and spent an hour on the pitch after he was substituted for Kingsley Coman.

Upon returning to the bench, he waved to the Bayern Munich fans in gratitude for their support. Rumors of an imminent transfer further surfaced. The 19-year-old has been linked with different Premier League clubs, such as Chelsea, Manchester United, and Tottenham, and could be England-bound before the transfer window ends on February 3rd.

Vincent Kompany‘s Verdict On The Frenchman

The Belgian manager denied rumors that speculation about his Bayern Munich future influenced his decision to start the forward. Kompany maintained that his decision was purely based on performance and merit.

He further stated: “These are stories from outside the club. It has nothing to do with my job. Whoever deserves to play will play. I have no ulterior motives. He’s just earned it. It’s important that we have players in attack who can score goals. We have a lot of players who can do that, but Mathys deserved it today.” The 38-year-old might be dismissing speculation, but the manager is aware that Mathys Tel’s departure could happen sooner rather than later.

Manchester United And Spurs To Battle It Out

Recent reports from Fabrizio Romano have suggested that Tottenham has told Bayern Munich that they are willing to pay the €60m fee for Mathys Tel and are pushing to get the deal done as soon as possible. However, they face tough competition for the talented French forward from Chelsea, Arsenal, Aston Villa, and Manchester United.

Ruben Amorim is keen on the 19-year-old if Marcus Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho leave the club. Secondly, with Jhon Duran‘s imminent move to Al-Nassr and speculation about Ollie Watkins moving to Arsenal, Aston Villa is seeking a replacement. Emery sees Tel as the ideal option to replace the departing Columbian. Tel is pushing for an exit before the transfer window ends after getting frustrated with his lack of game time.

End Of Rant

Vincent Kompany dismissed transfer speculation on one hand; on the other, Mathys Tel is reportedly close to leaving Bayern Munich. However, it is still up to the Frenchman to decide where he wants to play next, with a handful of options from the Premier League. For more fearless sports coverage, visit Stadium Rant.
