The New York Yankees have just won the American League Pennant for the first time since 2009, and general manager Brian Cashman couldn’t even go three whole days without keeping the Houston Astros out of his mouth.

Cashman was on the MLB Network show High Heat with Chris Mad Dog Russo, and he had to make sure the entire world knew that the Yankees were cheated out of the World Series in 2017 by the Houston Astros and they would have won it all if it wasn’t for them.

Brian Cashman Has No Excuses

The New York Yankees are among the teams with the highest spending payroll every season, and Cashman is crying because the Astros cheated them out of a World Series in 2017.

Of course, the Astros cheated seven years ago, but what about the 14 other years in which the Yankees came in with one of the highest payrolls in baseball and fell flat on their faces?

Someone in the New York Yankees organization shouldn’t be the first to call out teams for cheating since they did have one of the most prominent steroid users of all time, Alex Rodriguez, who cheated the game.

Brian Cashman, Yankees, Astros

Cashman also must not remember that the Astros smoked them in the playoffs in 2019 and 2022, and the Boston Red Sox took care of them in 2018 and 2021, and let’s not forget about the Tampa Rays, who have one of the lowest payrolls in baseball that ended their postseason in 2020.

Nobody will feel bad for the New York Yankees because they got cheated out of maybe winning one World Series when the franchise already has 27 of them, and the Yankees go out and steal every big-time player from small and medium market teams every offseason.
