Saudi Pro League giants Al Nassr have reportedly agreed to a €60 million fee for Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface. Cristiano Ronaldo will be reinforced with a new teammate, strengthening the Knights of Najd attack even more.

Nigerian Clears Medical For Al Nassr

According to Sky Sports Germany, there’s confirmation that Al Nassr has reached a full agreement to sign the Nigerian from Bayer Leverkusen. As stated, the reported fee is around €60 million, and the forward will earn a staggering €15 million net per season, breaking it down weekly to €288,462 per week. The 24-year-old has cleared the Al Nassr medical and is inching closer to the Saudi switch.

Boniface‘s absence from training on Tuesday raised eyebrows about his impending departure from the club. Xabi Alonso confirmed that the club continues to prepare without the Nigerian for Leverkusen‘s final UEFA Champions League group stage encounter against Sparta Prague. The Spanish said, “There are discussions with the club, and we need to wait. We’re preparing without Boni,” Alonso told reporters Tuesday.

“We will see. We need to wait a bit more, but our preparation is with the rest of our squad, who are ready, fit, and in good shape at the moment. It’s the last Champions League game, and that’s our focus.”

Dynamic Acquisition For Al Nassr’s Attack

Cristiano Ronaldo would have a talented striker alongside him, which might also tweak their formation a little. Boniface impressed the Germans and was signed by Leverkusen in the 2022-23 season, when he was the joint top scorer in the Europa League alongside Marcus Rashford, playing for Union SG. In his debut season in the Bundesliga, the 24-year-old was Leverkusen’s top scorer, winning the Rookie of the season award.

He had an impressive scoring record of 31 goal contributions in 34 appearances and was pivotal in Leverkusen winning the domestic treble. Lifting the Bundesliga title while remaining unbeaten, the DFB Pokal, and the German Super Cup. The Germans also narrowly missed the UEFA Europa League, losing the final against high-flying Atalanta by 3-0.

Al Nassr would either push Ronaldo back to the wing or deploy a two-striker system, accumulating both the Portuguese and the Nigerian upfront. Regardless of the formation, the attack has been significantly bolstered.

End Of Rant

It’ll be hard for Leverkusen to find the striker’s replacement, but they’ve already targeted some names. One of them is Brighton’s Evan Ferguson. Leverkusen faces some competition for the Irishman, but Xabi Alonso will be confident in beating the competition and securing the deal. For Al Nassr, improving their chances for the Saudi Pro League is a great opportunity. For more fearless sports coverage, visit Stadium Rant.
