Professional wrestling has been on fire for the past few years. It’s not just the promotions that are succeeding, but documentaries about the professional wrestling industry have been successful. One of the standouts is VICE’s Dark Side Of The Ring series. Many have speculated over the past few months if there was going to be a sixth season. Well, guess what, Dark Side of the Ring will return, and more information was revealed.
When Is The Premiere Episode?
Dark Side of the Ring Season 6 Episode 1 will premiere on March 25th, 2025. There is no word on the specific topic covered in the season opener, however, a bunch of topics have been rumored for the season.
Topics Rumored To Be Covered
So far there have been multiple topics heavily rumored to be covered on the show. Keep in mind that they are not 100% confirmed as I remember last season many believed Kurt Angle and Mike Awesome were going to be covered, but it turned out not to be true. Down below is what Slam Wrestling has reported:
- Superstar Billy Graham
- Ludvig Borgia
- Hell in A Cell
- Billy Jack Haynes
- Vader
- Daffney
- Eddie Gilbert
- Andrew “Test” Martin
Other rumored topics reported elsewhere:
- Mick Foley
- Dennis Coraluzzo
- Tony “USA” Atlas
I Am Really Interested In The Daffney Episode
Those are some great topics that I’m interested in. From the Slam Wrestling report, the episode I’m interested in how they cover is Daffney. Daffney is going to be a sad one to watch, as she was one of my favorites at the peak of the TNA days and her death is the saddest ever. Before Daffney died, she live-streamed reading a suicide note, holding a weapon, and requesting her brain be donated to science for CTE Testing. The next day it was announced that she had passed away. Just an absolute tragedy what happened.
The car accident in 2012 is insane as a whole. What happened was she hydroplaned at 70 mph and her car flipped multiple times. The car was upside down in three feet of water with her in it.
One thing is for sure, this episode of Daffney will paint TNA in a really poor light. Especially with the lawsuit she filed regarding the hospital fees TNA refused to pay, which encouraged her to work through it. TNA PR team better be ready for that episode.
The One Topic I Want To Be Covered In Season Six
To me, there are many topics I hope also get covered in season six. The one topic I hope gets covered is “Sweet and Sour” by Larry Sweeney. Larry Sweeney is one of the greatest what-ifs in professional wrestlers as he was the next Bobby Heenan with how talented he was as a manager/wrestler. Unfortunately, Sweeney has severe mental health issues, and he tragically passed away in 2011 at the age of 30 years old. I want people to know about this man and his story as he was so great in the early days of Ring of Honor and in the Chikara promotion.
Only time will tell what officially gets covered, but no matter what I am very excited that the series is officially back. I will review every single episode that gets covered and will continue to review other episodes that have previously come out.
