You heard it right. Dick Vitale will return to the broadcast booth on January 25th for the Duke vs. Wake Forest game. This is a highly anticipated return for college basketball fans since Vitale left the booth due to cancer, and I am excited to see him return.

It’s truly inspiring to see Dicky V back on the stage where he is known for. He’s gone through five major vocal cord surgeries, 65 radiation treatments, and six months of chemotherapy, and for him to come back after all that says a lot about the perseverance and fight he’s had during this whole process.
He has been a part of the ESPN network since 1979 and has called thousands of games during that time. He is also a strong advocate for the Jimmy V Foundation, which supports cancer research. His remarkable return has generated a lot of discussion among fans and media.

The 1st time I saw Dick Vitale was a Duke @ Wake Forest game. Wake had two 7 footers in Tim Duncan and Sean Woods.

When we walked in Vitale had a bunch of kids on the court shooting around. The atmosphere was crazy that night.

Vitale Aura Is Unmatched
He is known for many things, including broadcasting, but most fans know him for his creative sayings and positivity, and his love for the game draws him apart from others.
Vitale energy and passion are what drive him, and his connection to the game and the fans is what makes him the loving guy he is; while many or some dislike his announcing, he’s one of the best in the game, and to see him back in the booth is great for the sport.
He has built a lasting legacy, and it is truly joyous. The words that best describe this monumental moment are resilience and dedication because Vitale has overcome many odds to return to this position. He is loved by many, including his colleagues and fans, and seeing him excited about this opportunity brings a smile to my face as a fan.
One of his signature phrases, “Awesome, baby!” is often used to describe an exciting play or player. He also uses the term “Diaper Dandy” to refer to a talented freshman and “Get a TO, baby!” to suggest that a coach should call a timeout when the opposing team is making a run. In intense games, these phrases are incredibly memorable, and itās not just the phrases themselves; itās the unmistakable voice of Dick Vitale that makes them truly special.
End Of My Dick Vitale Rant

As we grow closer to Dick Vitale returning to the booth, it’s going to be a thrilling moment, and it’s going to be emotional for him as well, and not only him; it’s going to be that way for college basketball fans, Media, etc.
Vitale also expressed his emotions after being cancer-free and being able to return to the booth. Vitale expressed his gratitude and excitement, saying,
“I am absolutely ecstatic and I canāt believe this is happening after going through five major vocal cord surgeries, 65 radiation treatments, and chemotherapy for six months. Itās been a very tough journey, but all of the prayers and messages from the beautiful fans have inspired me. ”
This is an exciting moment for all parties involved. It’s one for me that’s going to be emotional as a fan because my childhood was Dick Vitale, and hearing him with the phrases, the running into the stands with fans, his big shot calls, all of that is going to be brought back to my memory when he puts on the headset next weekend, and that is enough for the child-like part of me to be excited and pumped to know one of the best announcers in the game is returning to the game he loves.
