Kentucky Women’s Basketball is still in a good position to secure a top seed in the NCAA Tournament. According to the latest ESPN Bracketology update, Kentucky is currently projected as the third-seed. This is largely due to their strong performance in the SEC, where they earned the fourth seed and a double bye in the conference tournament.

Despite a tough back-in-forth loss to Oklahoma in the quarterfinals of the SEC Women’s College Basketball Tournament, Kentucky remains as the last three seed. The Wildcats beat the Sooners in the regular season in Norman. Perhaps the road quadrant one win helps the Cats resume.

ESPN Charlie Creme updated his latest bracketology on Tuesday morning March 11th after the Power-Four conference tournaments concluded. The top four seeding lines would be as follows — No. 1 seeds South Carolina (30-3), UCLA (30-2), Southern California (28-3) and Texas (31-3); No. 2 seeds TCU (31-3), Notre Dame (26-5), Connecticut (30-3) and North Carolina State (26-6); No. 3 seeds Duke (26-7), LSU (28-5), Oklahoma and Kentucky; No. 4 seeds Ohio State (25-6), Baylor (27-7), Ole Miss (20-10) and North Carolina (27-7).

Her Hoops Stats latest bracketology, which was updated late Sunday night, had the same top 16 teams and seed lines. These are two of the best bracketologists for Women’s College Basketball. With Selection Sunday less than a week away and all major conferences having finished their tournaments, could the Selection Committee see it this way as well?

Both a three or a four seed would give Kentucky a host site at the newly renovated Memorial Coliseum. A three seed would match the Wildcats up with a two seed in the Sweet Sixteen. Having a four seed would give you a matchup with the top seed in the region. Winning two games at home in the opening rounds of March Madness would give them a slightly better percentage change versus a two seed over the number one seed in the Sweet Sixteen.
