The Louisville Cardinals hosted the Wake Forest Demon Deacons for an ACC showdown at the Yum! Center on Tuesday evening.
Double-Digit Streak
The Card walked into Tuesday’s matchup in the Yum! Center holding a nine-game winning streak, most of those wins against ACC opponents. Louisville (16-5, 9-1 ACC) is tied with the Clemson Tigers for second in the ACC standings. Wake Forest (15-6, 7-3 ACC) coming off a close loss to the Duke Blue Devils were firmly tucked behind the Cards in 4th place and with a loss.
Wake Forest would lead early with a 5-4 lead however, the Cards would take back control and never look back. Louisville would head into halftime with a 45-21 lead. Wake Forest would try to make a late push towards the end of the second half but it wasn’t enough in the end as the Cards win 72-59.
Notables
The Cards scored a bit less than usual on Tuesday night so the amount of notables was fewer than normal. Here’s who we think had very good games:
- Chucky Hepburn: 14 points, 5 rebounds, 8 assists, 3-for-8 from the field, 2-for-6 from behind the three-point line
- Terrence Edwards Jr.: 18 points, 3 rebounds, 6-for-15 from the field, 4-for-11 from behind the arc
- Reyne Smith: 16 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 4-for-10 all from the three-point line
