Marcus Rashford has reportedly rejected three lucrative offers from Saudi Pro League clubs, which were willing to offer an astonishing £35 million wages per year to the 27-year-old. The England International has no plans to accept a move to Saudi Arabia in January.

Marcus Rashford’s Commitment To Remain In Europe

Marcus Rashford Manchester United

Manchester United have placed Marcus Rashford on the transfer list, and there’s a substantial likelihood that he might leave in the current January transfer window if the appropriate offer is made. New manager Ruben Amorim dropped the 27-year-old for four straight games, including the Manchester Derby, as the Portuguese stated that the forward hasn’t been training well enough to convince him.

The manager further explained that this decision was not based on a disciplinary issue but on small details. This could be a harsh strategy by the former Sporting boss to freeze out the player completely so he could eventually facilitate the move away from the club.

However, Rashford was included in the matchday squad against Newcastle United. He was an unused sub despite having been told to warm up two to three times. United eventually lost 2-0. It is reported that the England International plans to continue playing in Europe.

According to the reports from Daily Mail, this is despite the three Saudi Pro League clubs offering him remunerative contracts that would eclipse his £315,000 a week deal at Manchester United. He would’ve earned approximately £673,077 a week had he accepted mega-money offers from any of those three Saudi clubs. Yet, he refused those deals and believes he still has unfinished business in Europe, but it doesn’t look like it’s with Manchester United anymore.

Manchester United’s Financial Fragility

Manchester United will not only listen to offers for Marcus Rashford because of his inconsistency issues or fallout with Ruben Amorim but also because of the club’s efforts to comply with profit and sustainability guidelines. The Portuguese confirmed that United’s transfer activity in this window might be very slim and that they must make sales to do any business. The winger is their best bet at getting decent money this window.

Rashford stated in an interview right after his exclusion from the Manchester Derby that he’s willing to take the next step in his career and is ready for a new challenge. Despite the statement, the born and bred Manc is caught in two minds and willing to stay at the club and fight for his place. He plans to run out the contract he signed in 2023 to keep him at the club for five years.

End Of Rant

It is yet to be seen if Marcus Rashford will be sold in the January transfer window, but his twenty-year association with the club might finally end despite the winger’s urge to stay and fight for his place. With Liverpool up next and Rashford returning to the squad as an unused sub last game, will Amorim persist with his decision? Or would Manchester United’s terrible recent form and Rashford’s decent scoring record against Liverpool urge the Portuguese to start the winger on Sunday?
