Marcus Rashford has been linked with a move to Bundesliga giant Borussia Dortmund. According to reports in the transfer market, the two clubs have already begun negotiations over the possibility of a loan deal in the January transfer window.

The Yellow Wall Eyes Marcus Rashford

As per a new report from Sky Sports Germany, Borussia Dortmund are interested in striking a loan deal for the signature of Marcus Rashford in January. However, the deal may not be a walk in the park for the Bundesliga giants as the Englishman’s huge £325,000 per week could be a major blow.

The 27-year-old would have to take a huge pay cut to make this deal possible, and the club itself faces tough competition from the winger. Barcelona and AC Milan have also been monitoring Rashford’s situation at Manchester United, and according to reports, the Italian club are ahead of everyone else for the Manchester United number 10.

Fallen Figure Under Amorim

Marcus Rashford Manchester United

The last time Marcus Rashford played a game for Manchester United in the Premier League was over a month ago. Ruben Amorim left him out of the squad for four straight matchdays, eventually making the bench against Newcastle United but not featuring even for a minute.

He was subsequently absent from the following two games as well, against Liverpool and Arsenal, respectively. Amorim confirmed that he missed the games because of an illness, which might be implausible considering the situation.

Rumors are circulating about a huge clearout within the club, as the new Manchester United owners have been very ruthless about almost everything on and off the pitch. We’ve seen every department within the club getting pay cuts. Sir Jim Ratcliffe is trying to stabilize the club’s finances, especially in light of its huge debt. The born and bred Manc leaving the club after a 27-year association might be the first step in the clear-out. Rashford has only scored four goals in 15 games in the league, and his dip in form has continued since last season.

In Search of a New Challenge

Marcus Rashford openly admitted that he would like to seek a new challenge outside of Manchester United after realizing his time at the club may end. Dortmund have discussed a loan with an obligation to buy, and if any sort of deal goes through, it will be clear if the 27-year-old prefers Italy or Germany.
