Two Thursdays ago, Ring Side Rant did their weekly podcast on Stadium Rant’s YouTube channel, and I talked about the worst Elimination Chamber matches in WWE History. My microphone in that podcast was horrible and sounded like it was underwater. Again, want to apologize for that and make up for it; I decided to write about my worst and favorite chamber matches. Not long ago, I wrote about the five worst elimination chamber matches ever. Let’s discuss the 5 Best elimination chamber matches in the match stipulation history.
5. 2017 Elimination Chamber Match

The 2017 Men’s Elimination Chamber was so fun to watch. It involved AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Baron Corbin, John Cena, The Miz, and Bray Wyatt for the WWE Championship. The man who won the match was Bray Wyatt, and it was about time. Bray Wyatt was poorly booked in WWE throughout his career at the time and wanted that man for years to win the championship. Wyatt did in this chamber match, which puts this on my top 5 list. It’s just a shame that WWE had Bray Wyatt lose the title a few months later to Randy Orton in a terrible match at WrestleMania 33.
4. New Year Revolution 2005 Chamber

This chamber match involved Triple H, Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit, Randy Orton, Batista, and EDGE. This one is my favorite because of the importance of the story of Evolution. Especially teasing Batista, eventually betraying the faction, and everything involving Randy Orton was perfect. Orton had already betrayed the group the year before, but he and Triple H had a nice brawl. Unfortunately, Ric Flair interfered and cost Orton the match. Triple H may have won, but this match had it all. Great technique with Benoit and Jericho, hard-hitting with Orton and Triple H, and the entire match was intense with Shawn Michaels as the guest referee. If you haven’t seen this match, watch it, as it is brilliant.
3. No Way Out 2009 – World Heavyweight Championship Elimination Chamber Match

This match is often remembered for the Ultimate Opportunist, aka EDGE, stealing Kofi Kingston’s spot to win the World Heavyweight Championship. Earlier that night, EDGE was in the WWE title elimination chamber match and was eliminated not 3 minutes into the match. So, EDGE had the plan to ensure he would leave the PPV as champion and screwed over Kofi Kingston, and it was brilliant. EDGE was the match’s star, but John Cena’s elimination was incredible and made him look very strong, taking three finishers.
2. 2019 Men’s Elimination Chamber Match

One of the best stories told in the last few years of Vince McMahon’s reign of terror in creative was Kofimania. Kofi Kingston’s rise to finally win the WWE Championship for the first time. He should have won it in 2009/2010, but he blames Randy Orton for that. Kofi did not win the match, but his performance, the crowd’s reaction, and the story in general were just excellent. That was when WWE had to shift and entirely focus on Kofi’s push. That and Mustafa Ali’s injury also helped. It’s not just that, but Randy Orton, Samoa Joe, Jeff Hardy, and AJ Styles also had great performances. It got me so emotional throughout the match and will be something I will never forget.
1. 2002 Elimination Chamber At Survivor Series

No brainer here: the first-ever elimination chamber is the greatest ever, and no chamber match has topped it. This match involved Rob Van Damn, Shawn Michaels, Triple H, Chris Jericho, Booker T, and Kane. This match blew every fan away, and every moment was memorable. From the bunch, RVD doing that 5-star frog splash onto Triple H is insane. Especially when it was revealed after the match that Triple H’s throat got crushed, and he almost died. There is a reason why Triple H deserves a Hall of Fame induction, as finishing the match with a crushed throat is insanity.
2002 was the year of Shawn Michaels coming back to WWE and having fantastic matches. Seeing him win his first title in so many years during his comeback was so emotional. Everyone in this match looked wonderful, including Kane, Jericho, and Booker T, who were terrific. Chris Jericho being thrown into the glass of the chamber is still a bump, and I don’t know how Jericho wasn’t injured. The crowd, too, was so energetic, and it’s one of the best crowds in Survivor Series History. If you haven’t watched it, stop reading this match and watch it. It’s currently on the WWE Vault Channel.
