Week Seven of the 2024 NFL season is here. As always, I will start by discussing the rules for a survivor pool. It is a weekly contest where people select one team per week, straight up, to win their game.

If a chosen team wins, they advance to the next week, but remember that the selected team can’t be used for the rest of the season. If a team they chose for that week loses, they are eliminated from the pool.

Now that the rules are set, it is time for me to give my top three options: a risky pick, a trap pick, and a survivor pick that I would have made if I were still alive in Survivor. It would have been nice for Cincinnati to prepare for their first regular-season game.

1. Buffalo Bills (Vs Titans)

As long as Will Levis starts games and they’re facing a more talented team, they are definitely a fade against. This week, it is the Buffalo Bills, and the game is in Buffalo. Not only that, but Buffalo acquired Anari Cooper via trade and fixed a tremendous weakness on offense.

Tennessee looked terrible against an injury-piled Colts team. Imagine how dominant the Bills are going to look against this Titans squad. This is an easy and stress-free game to pick in Survivor.

2. Washington Commanders (Vs Panthers)

NFL, Survivor, 2024, Week 7

This is the pick against Carolina strategy, as they are easily one of the worst teams in the NFL. Carolina’s defense has been miserable since LB Shaq Thompson and DT Derrick Brown suffered season-ending injuries.

With how great the Commanders’ offense has been this season, it could be yet another long night for Carolina. The Commanders really have something in Jayden Daniels, who has played very well for the team.

The Commanders’ defense could use some work, especially in the secondary. However, with how bad Carolina’s offense is, this should not be a tremendous concern. Washington is another easy and stress-free pick to make in Survivor.

3. Los Angeles Rams (vs Las Vegas Raiders)

If the Bills and Commanders have not been used yet, the Rams are an option. The Rams are coming off a bye week, getting healthier, and are the home team. The Raiders are an absolute mess right now, and Aidan O’Connell is awful at quarterback.

If he starts over Gardner Minshew, that just boosts the confidence of survivor players picking the Rams. Also, the Rams are a much better-coached team than the Raiders. The Rams should take care of business and beat the Raiders this week.

Risky Pick- Jaguars (vs Patriots In London)

NFL, Survivor Picks, Week 7, 2024

In Survivor Pools, it’s usually best to avoid international games. However, an exception can be made this week, and out of all teams, it’s the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Jaguars are an absolute mess right now, but they have been in London, England, for the past two weeks now. They are more adjusted to this time zone than the New England Patriots.

The Patriots look a lot better with Drake Maye at quarterback, but he’s behind a horrendous offensive line. The Jaguars’ defense is horrible, but they do a really solid job rushing the passer. It could be a difficult day if the Jags’ pass rushers do their job and their secondary isn’t incompetent like it was last week against Chicago.

Doug Peterson desperately needs a win to stay in Jacksonville. There is a big chance he will get fired if the Jaguars lose, as the team has quit on him. This may be the only chance to take the Jaguars.

Not only because the Jaguars suck, but there isn’t another week to use them in Survivor. An argument can be made in Week 15 against the New York Jets, but only if Rodgers is healthy to play. If you’re willing to gamble and go all in, the Jaguars are the team to pick.

Trap Pick- Bengals (at Browns)

The Cleveland Browns are another mess of an organization. The Deshaun Watson Era has been an absolute failure for the organization. He has played so terribly that he should not be starting games anymore. Watson is that bad, and the Browns can’t move on from him due to his awful contract unless another allegation pops up.

A lot of players in Survivor are going back to the old pick-against-the-Browns strategy, especially as, according to DVOA, the Browns are statistically the worst team in the NFL. Here is the problem: Cinncinati is terrible, too. They have a record of 2-5, and they have looked really bad. Look at last week’s sloppy performance against the mediocre New York Giants.

Here is something fascinating: Joe has always struggled when playing in Cleveland. In the last four games in Cleveland, Burrow has lost all of them. Brown’s defense is still capable, and Cinncinati’s line is awful, too. The Bengals aren’t going to get help from their running game, as Chase Brown is mediocre, and Zack Moss is terrible.

Yes, the Browns traded WR Amari Cooper for a Day 2 pick, but they are getting a big return on that offense, Nick Chubb. Since this game is a divisional matchup, it’s best to avoid picking the Bengals this week.

Who I Would Have Taken in Survivor – LA Rams

NFL, Survivor, Week 7, 2024

This week, there are more apparent choices in Survivor. From the bunch, the Jaguars are just too risky. It’s tempting, but with Doug Peterson still there and the team quitting on him, it’s better to avoid picking them until later in the season.

The Bills are the safe option, but they play the Patriots twice in Week 16 and 18. It’s better to play the waiting game with them. This choice came down to the Washington Commanders or the Los Angeles Rams.

They don’t have much future value, but the Commanders play the Titans in Week 13, and it’s better to wait at that spot to use them. If I were still alive in Survivor, I would have taken the Los Angeles Rams.
