The 2023 New York Giants Have A Large Range Of Outcomes

The New York Giants have a lot going for them in 2023. From a young quarterback, who just got a massive payday, Daniel Jones, a defense on the rise, the reigning NFL Coach of the Year, and coming off their first playoff birth since 2016. The team has also improved this offseason leading fans to be excited for the Giants as the 2023-24 NFL Season looms ahead.

But what are the most realistic outcomes for the G-Men this season? Most fans would say they can win the Super Bowl, while division rivals might say the Giants will struggle and win four games this season. It could be a really fun year for New York, or a struggling year as seen in 2017-2021. These are the possible realistic outcomes for the New York Football Giants in 2023.

First let's recap some offseason roster changes.

Additions: WR Parris Campbell, LB Bobby Okereke, CB Armani Oruwariye, TE Darren Waller (trade) Subtractions: S Julian Love, WR Richie James, C Jon Feliciano. WR Kenny Golladay Notable Draft Picks: CB Deonte Banks (first-round), WR Jalin Hyatt (third-round)

The Best Outcome For New York Giants

Final Record: 12-5 First NFC East

In the best outcome for the Giants, they win 12 games and their division. The Philadelphia Eagles have a bit of regression, and the Dallas Cowboys don't match their win total from 2022 leading the G-Men to take the division crown, continuing the streak of no repeat division winners. New York sees big strides from Daniel Jones, who finishes in the top ten MVP voting. In this outcome, the Giants notch big wins over the Cowboys, 49ers, Bills, and Eagles leaving fans pleased.

Darren Waller returns to elite form, the defense plays really well, and Campbell is a 1,000-yard receiver while Hyatt shows potential all over in his rookie season. Jones hits the 30-touchdown mark for the first time in his career, while Barkley agrees to a long-term deal and has a stellar season.

In the playoffs, the Giants knock off the Eagles and 49ers, while falling just short in the Super Bowl to the Kansas City Chiefs. Although the loss hurts, Giants fans are very happy with the state of the team, as they will remain contenders for the foreseeable future.

The Realistic Outcome For New York Giants

Final Record: 10-7 Third NFC East

In the most realistic outcome for the Giants, they win 10 games and finish third in their division. Philadelphia wins the division once again, while Dallas matches their win total from 2022. Daniel Jones has a solid season, throwing 20+ touchdowns while forming a strong relationship with Darren Waller. The defense improves from last season and Barkley agrees to a short-term deal and has another good season.

Despite being the underdogs most of the season, New York improves from last season and takes the sixth seed in the playoffs, while getting an upset win over the third-seed Detroit Lions. Once again, the Giants fall in the divisional round to the Philadelphia Eagles but record back-to-back winning seasons with hope for the future.

The Worst Outcome For New York Giants

Final Record: 7-10 Fourth NFC East

In the worst outcome for the Giants, they only win 7 games, failing to reach their win total from 2022 and finish fourth in their division. Starting most of the season on the road hurts the G-Men and despite a late playoff push, it is too late to make a run. Jones struggles and makes the front office want buyer's remorse, while Barkley does not agree to play on the tag and sits out. Matt Breida takes over but can't fill the void left by Barkley. Waller has injury struggles while the receiving core still lacks a true star.

Despite missing the postseason, the Giants still have hope of rebounding in 2024 while making big moves in the off-season. They also consider drafting a quarterback in the loaded 2024 NFL Draft, where they would have a mid-round pick, but could also use it to draft a defender or playmaker.

Which outcome do you think will play out for the New York Giants? The Giants kick off the season on September 10th against the Dallas Cowboys at MetLife Stadium.
