2024 MLB Home Run Derby Participants At The Moment

The 2024 MLB Home Derby will be held on July 15th in Arlington, Texas. Players will still be added to the field, but here are the current participants.

6. Gunnar Henderson, Shortstop, Baltimore Orioles

Gunnar Henderson has been one of the best young players in baseball for the past two years. Last season, he was named AL Rookie of the Year. Henderson was named to the All-Star game this season and will be in the Home Derby. Henderson knocked in 28 home runs in his rookie season in 2023; this year, he has 27 as of July 10th.

5. Pete Alonso, First Base, New York Mets

Pete Alonso will be entering his fifth Home Run Derby. He won the title in 2019 and 2021. Alonso has 18 home runs in 2024 and is ready to win his third derby.

4. Bobby Witt Jr., Shortstop, Kansas City Royals

Bobby Witt Jr. has been a hitting machine this season, leading the MLB with 119 hits as of July 9th. Witt sits with 15 home runs during the season and will try to win a Home Run Derby again, with his first win coming in the high school Home Run Derby in 2018.

3. Alec Bohm, Third Base, Philadelphia Phillies

Alech Bohm comes into the derby with only 11 home runs on the season, but he has been a double machine this year, leading the league with 30, so he does have a good amount of power, and let's see it get over the wall in Texas next week.

2. Marcell Ozuna, DH/Outfield Atlanta Braves

Marcell Ozuna had a season to remember last year when he went over the 40-home run mark for the first time in his career. He sits with 23 home runs and should be a real player to win the derby next week.

José Ramírez has taken the Cleveland Guardians offense to new heights this season with his 23 home runs; now, he will put on a show for the national audience. Ramirez participated in the 2022 derby and now will look for some revenge after not getting out of the first round.
