2024 NFL Super Wildcard Weekend AFC Predictions

By Peter Andrisani (The Mock Draft Guy)

After a wild 18 weeks of the NFL Season, The Playoff match-ups are officially set. Let’s look at each matchup on the AFC Side of the playoff bracket for SUPER Wildcard Weekend.

#1 Baltimore Ravens (13-4) BYE + HOME FIELD

Despite losing to the Steelers in the season's final week, the Ravens clinched the #1 seed in the AFC and home-field advantage throughout the playoffs. They will be off next weekend, and then play the lowest remaining seed in the divisional round.

#5 Cleveland Browns (11-6) @ #4 Houston Texans (9-8)

This Matchup has a little bit of everything in it, and the game I’m looking forward to the most. You have arguably the two frontrunners for Coach of the Year going head to head in Kevin Stefanski & DeMeco Ryans. You also have the old gunslinger sitting on his couch 6 weeks ago in Joe Flacco, against the rookie sensation, C.J. Stroud. This is one of those games that can go either way, I think this game comes down to how well the Browns can contain Nico Collins, and if the Texans have found an answer for Amari Cooper. The Texans are ahead of schedule, and have had an amazing season, but I unfortunately think it ends here in a close one.

Browns Win, 31-19

#6 Miami Dolphins (11-6) @ #3 Kansas City Chiefs (11-6)

Another return “Home” in the playoffs, maybe not to the same magnitude as Stafford going back to Detroit, but Tyreek Hill looks to wreak havoc on his former employers. I’ll be honest with you, both teams have been quite disappointing in the second half of the season, and I don’t think either team has what it takes to make it to the Super Bowl. The Chiefs are a much better road team than they are at home, but I think GEHA Field @ Arrowhead Stadium is a massive advantage. I don’t think this game will be as high-scoring as some might think, with both defenses playing sound football.

Chiefs Win, 24-16

#7 Pittsburgh Steelers (10-7) @ #2 Buffalo Bills (11-6)

This has the potential to be the biggest blowout of any of the playoff matchups in my opinion. The Steelers are the Kings of ugly football. On the flip side, The Bills have not played the prettiest football either, but have proven they can win when it counts this season. I don’t think Mason Rudolph and the Steeler's offense can keep up with the Bills in Buffalo. I believe it’ll be close in the first half, with the Bills making a few mistakes, but eventually, they will pull away.

Bills Win, 34-13
