2024 NFL Week 9 Predictions

Houston Texans @ New York Jets

CJ Stroud

The Texans haven’t been playing their best football, but they’re still 6-2, and CJ Stroud is still a terrific QB. Houston is still without its number one receiver Nico Collins, which will hurt them here. Thankfully for them, they play the Jets. The Jets have been a mess this season. They’re coming off an embarrassing loss to the Patriots, and seemingly have no leadership. The Texans are the more stable team here, and frankly, the better one.

Winner: Texans

Washington Commanders @ New York Giants

Jayden Daniels

The Commanders are flying high after a miracle victory over the Bears last week. A final Hail Mary play from Jayden Daniels had everyone in Landover on their feet. The Giants on the other hand, still have an inept offense. They had two chances to come back on Monday night against the Steelers, but both drives ended in turnovers from Daniel Jones. The Commanders are too good right now, and the NFC East might just be their division.

Winner: Commanders

Denver Broncos @ Baltimore Ravens

Zay Flowers

The Ravens looked completely unprepared against a Jameis Winston-led Browns team last week. Baltimore struggled to finish out a close game, which seems to be their biggest problem. This week they face a hot Broncos team with a terrific defense. Bo Nix has been playing great football, and they’ll be looking to upset the Ravens here. This is closer than it should be, but the Ravens should get their edge back here and pick up the win.

Winner: Ravens

Las Vegas Raiders @ Cincinnati Bengals

Bengals offense
Joe Burrow, Tee Higgins, and Ja'Marr Chase take the field.

The Raiders played a strong game in week eight against the Chiefs, so they shouldn’t be completely dismissed here. The Bengals however, still have a great offense. They lost to a hot Eagles team last week. This might be a close game, but the Bengals have more firepower and they’ll come away with it.

Winner: Bengals

Dallas Cowboys @ Atlanta Falcons

Dallas was down 27-10 going into the fourth quarter against the Niners last week. They tried to make a comeback but it was too little too late. If the Cowboys can find a spark earlier in games, they’d be golden right now. The Falcons are a strike-early type of team. They scored 24 points before halftime last week. If Atlanta can take an early lead in this one, the Cowboys will struggle to come back.

Winner: Falcons

Miami Dolphins @ Buffalo Bills

Josh Allen

The Dolphins looked much better with a returning Tua Tagovailoa in week eight. He had some rust to shake off and Miami’s offense still managed three touchdowns. The Bills just walked right past the Seahawks last week in a 31-10 win. Josh Allen threw his first interception of the year, and it still didn’t matter. Buffalo is white hot right now, and this is their chance to show out against a division rival.

Winner: Bills

New Orleans Saints @ Carolina Panthers

Alvin Kamara

At this point of the season, the Panthers just seem like a punching bag for their opponents. The Broncos looked like Super Bowl contenders last week against them, and they were blown out the week before by the Commanders. The Saints are still dealing with plenty of injuries though. This isn’t a sure thing, but there’s little reason to bet on the Panthers here.

Winner: Saints

Los Angeles Chargers @ Cleveland Browns

Jameis Wiinston
Jameis Winston celebrating the Browns' week eight upset victory.

The Browns surprised everyone with an upset win over the Ravens last week. Jameis Winston started his first game since 2022 and showed out. The Chargers have been stagnant on offense over the last few weeks, and haven’t seemed to find a spark yet. Cleveland looks great, and they must be feeling great right now, they might prove that last week wasn’t a fluke.

Winner: Browns

New England Patriots @ Tennessee Titans

Drake Maye and Ja'Lynn Polk

The Titans are at a very low point after being mauled by the Detroit Lions last week in a 52-14 loss. Tennessee is struggling in every phase of the game with no end in sight. The Patriots are coming off an electric win over Aaron Rodgers and the Jets. Drake Maye looks to be the real deal for New England, and this is a great opportunity for him against an easy opponent. The Pats continue their turnaround in week nine.

Winner: Patriots

Jacksonville Jaguars @ Philadelphia Eagles

Jalen Hurts and AJ Brown

The Eagles started slow this year, but they’re looking good coming off back-to-back wins. They seem to have finally found some type of rhythm. The Jaguars fought hard against the Packers last week but came up short in the final seconds. Philly is playing great football, and they have momentum going into this.

Winner: Eagles

Chicago Bears @ Arizona Cardinals

Caleb Williams
Caleb Williams throwing a pass.

This one might be a toss-up. The Bears nearly came away with a win last week, if not for a Hail Mary by Jayden Daniels. Chicago didn’t play their best, but they kept it as close as possible with a tough opponent. The Cardinals are wildly inconsistent, and they’re going up against a playoff contender in this one. Caleb Williams will continue to grow and Chicago should take this one.

Winner: Bears

Detroit Lions @ Green Bay Packers

Amon-Ra St. Brown

The Detroit Lions are the scariest team in the NFL right now. They take the lead early and never slow down, and they proved it in a 52-14 victory over the Titans. The Packers are a great team, and this is in Lambeau, but Jordan Love is dealing with a groin injury. This could be a fun one but if Love is anything less than 100%, Green Bay’s in trouble. Detroit breaks hearts in Lambeau this week.

Winner: Lions

Los Angeles Rams @ Seattle Seahawks

Cooper Kupp

The Rams finally got Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua back in week eight, and they looked terrific. Matt Stafford threw four touchdowns in a close win over Minnesota. The Seahawks are cold right now, and struggling to find consistency. They’re coming off a 31-10 loss to Buffalo, and facing a tough opponent. LA will continue to bounce back with another win this week.

Winner: Rams

Indianapolis Colts @ Minnesota Vikings

Sam Darnold

The Vikings have taken a bit of a downturn over the last two weeks. They lost a nail biter to the Lions and another to the Rams. That shouldn’t deter them though against a floundering Colts team. Anthony Richardson is on the bench this week, and Joe Flacco gets the start. Indy will keep it competitive, but the Vikings are too good to lose three in a row.

Winner: Vikings

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Kansas City Chiefs

Patrick Mahomes

The Buccaneers kept things close with the Falcons last week, but Chris Godwin and Mike Evans were sorely missed. They’re not a complete team right now, and that will leave them in a bad spot against the Chiefs. Kansas City is 7-0 going into a Monday night home game against a weak opponent. The Chiefs aren’t playing their best, but they’re the defending Super Bowl champs and they’re still undefeated.

Winner: Chiefs
