5 Betting Favorites To Win The NHL's Central Division

We are less than 60 days away from the start of the 2024-25 NHL season. One division to keep an eye on this year will be the Central. With the addition of Steven Stamkos to the Predators and many stars back for another campaign with their club, the fight for the top spot in the division could make for intriguing hockey. Here are the five betting favorites to win the NHL's Central Division in 2025.

5) Minnesota Wild +1200

5) Minnesota Wild +1200

The Minnesota Wild are a team thirsty for a division championship. They only have one divisional banner in their franchise history (2007-08). Minnesota struggled to find its footing last season, finishing 39-34-9 and sixth in the Central. The Wild have many of the same players returning next season, including Kirill Kaprizov, Mats Zuccarello, and Marco Rossi. Both Filip Gustavsson and Marc-Andre Fleury will be back between the pipes. Minnesota will be competitive, but can they win the division? We'll have to wait and see.

4) Winnipeg Jets +600

4) Winnipeg Jets +600

The Winnipeg Jets' loss to the Colorado Avalanche in the first round was another frustrating playoff exit. Winnipeg also failed to keep Sean Monahan or Tyler Toffoli in free agency after making deals for them at last season's trade deadline. While a new boss will be on the bench, many of the Jets' star players are returning this season. Mark Scheifele, Kyle Conner, Josh Morrissey, Nikolaj Ehlers, and Conner Hellebuyck will keep Winnipeg's playoff hopes alive and give them a chance to win the Central Divison.

3) Nashville Predators +333

3) Nashville Predators +333

Nashville made arguably the biggest splash in free agency, signing Steven Stamkos to a four-year, $8 million deal. The Predators won back-to-back division titles in 2018 and 2019 but have failed to finish better than fourth since then. Nashville has many talented veterans on its roster. If they can put it all together, the Preds should be near the top of the Central Division at the end of the season.

2) Colorado Avalanche +220

2) Colorado Avalanche +220

Colorado won three Central Division championships from 2021 to 2023 and won its third Stanley Cup in 2022. The Avalanche are going to be a very tough team to beat this season, with Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen, and Cale Makar all returning. The club is trying to make the playoffs for the eighth straight season and would love to add another division title.

1) Dallas Stars +190

After losing in the Conference Finals the last two years, Dallas is hoping the 2024-25 season will be the one where they get over the hump. The Stars have a good mix of young and veteran talent and are the best team in the Central, at least on paper. Dallas won the division last year with a 52-21-9 record, setting a franchise record for most wins in a single season. With +190 odds, the Dallas Stars are the betting favorites to win the Central Division in the upcoming season.
