The finale of this 3 game set takes place tonight after each team took one game to start off the series. Each team is fighting to stay in the playoff race and needs to win every game they can coming down the stretch.
To finish off the series the Guardians will send their ace and former Cy Young award winner Shane Bieber to the mound. On the season Bieber has a 3.02 ERA and a 3.36 xERA. In the past month over, 33.1 innings pitched, Bieber held a 1.62 ERA. He has faced this Orioles team once already this year and in that start he took home the win while throwing 7 innings allowing 2 ER and striking out 11. Behind him out of the Cleveland bullpen is the BEST reliving unit in all of baseball over the past month with a 2.00 ERA.
For the Orioles they will send Kyle Bradish to the bump to try to win the series for his team. On the year thus far Bradish has a 5.63 ERA and a 4.96 xERA. He was great his last time out as he faced the Astros and went 8 scoreless innings. He will not have the strength that Bieber does out of the bullpen behind him though as the Orioles bullpen is in the bottom half of the league in terms of ERA over the past month with a 3.73 ERA.
While the Orioles are one of the best road underdogs this year they will be overpowered tonight by Shane Bieber and the top bullpen in baseball. Bieber has faced this Orioles lineup in 33 plate appearances in his career and has allowed a .133 BA against him. Take the Guardians and pay the juice as they should coast to an easy win to end this series.

Texas Rangers vs. Boston Red Sox
Glenn Otto vs. Rich Hill
A new series starts tonight between these two teams who both had high hopes coming into the season with big names and additions on their rosters, but it just hasn’t panned out for either. Each side will be trying to save some face and finish the season on a positive note.
Starting on the mound for the Rangers tonight will be Glenn Otto, who brings with him a 4.79 ERA and a 5.37 xERA. Not the prettiest of numbers for Otto but over the past month he has just a 2.93 ERA and while away from home, which is where he will be tonight, he has a 3.53 ERA. Out of the pen behind him is the 11th ranked bullpen over the past 30 days with a 3.43 ERA. They will be taking on a Red Sox team that has lost 3 of their last 4, and 7 of their last 10.
For the Sox, they will send super veteran starter Rich Hill to the bump. On the season he has a 4.32 ERA and a 4.25 xERA. Surprisingly though he is worse at home in Boston this year with a 5.54 ERA while pitching there. He has been worse overall this past month of August as well with a 4.74 ERA as well. He will be taking on a Rangers offense that has been top 10 in baseball over the past month. Overall they are 8th in wRC+ in the league with a 112 rating. Against Lefties like Hill they are 5th in baseball with a .362 wOBA. Unfortunately for Hill he wont have much protection behind him out of the pen, as Boston has the 2nd worst relieving crew over the past 30 days with a 6.13 ERA.
It appears the wrong team is favored in this game as the Rangers have a hotter offense, a hotter starting pitcher and the better bullpen. Take the underdog Rangers to take the first game of this series.

Milwaukee Brewers vs. Arizona Diamondbacks
Brandon Woodruff vs. Merrill Kelly
Two teams fighting for relevancy take the field tonight in a new series in Arizona. The Brewers are fighting to stay in their division race for the top spot while the young feisty Diamondbacks are not particularly fighting for a playoff spot but fighting to show they are here to stay for future years.
Starting tonight for the Brewers is Brandon Woodruff. On the season he has a 3.31 ERA and a 3.36 xERA. He has been fantastic for Milwaukee thus far this year but while away from home he doesn’t fare quite as well. Away from Miller Park he has a 4.34 ERA. Tonight he will be taking on a surging Arizona offense that ranks top 10 against right handed pitchers like Woodruff. They rank 9th in the league with a .316 team wOBA against RHP. Backing up Woodruff out of the Milwaukee bullpen has been a pedestrian group of relievers since they traded their prized closer at the deadline. Over the past month they are 18th in baseball with a 3.78 ERA.
On the other side for the Diamondbacks they will send Merrill Kelly to the bump. So far this season he has a 2.97 ERA and a 3.17 xERA, he has also been fantastic on the year. His last two starts have been uncharacteristically bad though, as he has allowed 7 ER in his last 13.1 IP. He also wont have much back up behind him once he exits this game, as the Diamondbacks bullpen has been the WORST unit in all of baseball over the past month with a 6.26 ERA. This pitching staff will be taking on the Brewers offense who ranks 6th against righties in the past month with a .328 wOBA.
This matchup features two top starters for each team that has struggled as of late and in this specific setting. The names of these starters is why we have such a low over/under number at 7.5. The best aspect of each team at the moment though is their offense, each has thrived as of late. The Dbacks have won 5 of their last 6 averaging 7.8 runs per game and the Brewers have won 4 of 5 while averaging 6.2 runs. Take the over on this low number and enjoy the fireworks.
