A Chaotic New Rhode To WrestleMania 40

Towards the end of the February 2nd episode of Friday night SmackDown, Cody Rhodes shocked the entire WWE Universe. After receiving "Special Counsel," Rhodes announced he would not be encountering "The Tribal Chief," Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40. Instead of finishing the story, The Rock was gifted the match on a silver platter against Reigns.

or so we thought...

The Decision Has Been Made

The Bombshell that was released on SmackDown, led to an uproar of fans blasting #WeWantCody tags all over social media. An uproar that ultimately got the attention of the American Nightmare himself.

During the Las Vegas presser, it was announced that Cody Rhodes would challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Once again, Shocking not only WWE fans but the Tribal Chief and the Great One as well.

Tensions started to rise as both parties entered an ancestral name-calling spectacle, in which Rhodes ultimately fell on the receiving end of a Rocky Slap. With The Rock now enraged and fully embracing Heel Mode, it will be even more difficult for Cody to finish the story. What will this new road to WrestleMania look like?

The Chaotic New Rhode To WrestleMania 40

As the Elimination Chamber approaches, The Rock's taunts and insults towards Cody Rhodes will become increasingly physical. Cody's frustration will eventually lead him to challenge The Rock to a match at the event. However, The Rock will only accept the challenge if the winner will face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania. Despite his reservations, Cody will agree to the stipulation and the challenge.

At the Elimination Chamber, Rhodes faced a tough challenge. The Blood Line interfered as expected, and Rhodes had to endure multiple Rock Bottoms. However, with the help of his signature moves such as the Cody-Cutter and Cross Rhodes, he managed to defeat the Great One and emerge victorious. As a result, he will remain as the challenger to face Roman Reigns at WrestleMania.

The Battle Between Royality

Finish. The. Story. Three words Rhodes has been preaching since his return to WWE at WrestleMania 38. The Philly crowd is pumped and fully committed to the battle that is about to commence.

The Tribal Chief launches a Superman Punch at Cody, leaving him dazed. Reigns rebounds off the ropes to set up for a spear, but Rhodes hits the Cody-Cutter unexpectedly. After a grueling fight full of exhaustion and turmoil, Solo Sikoa attempts to execute a Somoan-Spike on the American Nightmare, as history seems to repeat itself.

Cody was not going to be fooled this time. He took care of Solo by slamming him through the announce table, so he wouldn't interfere. When Cody got back into the ring, Roman Reigns immediately hit him with a Spear. Despite being pinned, Cody managed to kick out and then delivered a Cross-Rhodes to the Tribal Chief. Both Reigns and Cody got up, looking exhausted.

Finish The Story

The music of The Rock suddenly fills the arena, and the Great One makes his entrance into the ring. Standing beside Reigns, who has a smirk on his face, The Rock stares down Cody Rhodes. He then turns and gives a Rock Bottom to Roman Reigns before leaving the ring. Rhodes seizes the opportunity and delivers not one, but two Cross-Rhodes to Reigns. Cody pins Reigns for the three-count becomes the WWE Undisputed Universal Champion. Rhodes no longer needs to utter those three words. Instead, he can now say he has finished the story.

Will Cody finally complete the story, or will he come up short at another WrestleMania?
