A New Favorite Has Emerged To Be The Next Football Coach At Alabama
Following Nick Saban's retirement at the University of Alabama, there has been speculation over who will replace him. There's no shortage of big names, as the job in Tuscaloosa is widely considered one of the best in the country.
After rumors of Dan Lanning being the obvious choice dimmed, Florida State head coach Mike Norvell has emerged as the potential favorite to be the next Alabama football coach.
Mike Norvell was the coach of the year, leading the Seminoles to a 13-0 record and an ACC Championship prior to being snubbed of a college football playoff spot. The Seminoles eventually got demolished by Georgia in the Orange Bowl, but it doesn't take away from Norvell's brilliance.
One thing that is for sure is that Norvell is someone who understands the transfer portal and new age of NIL. Alabama will certainly be a place where Norvell can bring in stronger recruiting classes, so additionally having the ability to bring in transfers will be very helpful.
Rumors will stir until an official decision gets made, but with Dan Lanning seemingly being ruled out as Saban's replacement, it's time for Alabama fans to look at different options.
