Alabama's Transfer Portal Needs And Predictions
Alabama, like other teams, will have to utilize the transfer portal to improve its roster. Even Nick Saban complimented Deboer and the team but said, "They probably need to get some guys out of the portal like everyone else this time of year."
Transfer Needs
The offense appears to be doing well, but the defense needs some work. The defensive backs require help, and the defensive line could use an additional player to motivate them to perform better. However, most of the defensive tackles in the transfer portal would only provide depth, which could be helpful for Alabama. We can find one or maybe even two solid corners in the transfer portal this week.
Transfer Predictions
It seems Alabama will be getting a new transfer on Tuesday, and it will likely be Kadyn Proctor. Proctor previously transferred to Iowa after Nick Saban retired, but he has since returned to Tuscaloosa and was in attendance at the A-day game.
Rumors are swirling like wildfire about another transfer who is desperately needed by the team. According to speculation, Michigan's NIL checks are bouncing, and Will Johnson is considering joining Alabama. Who is Will Johnson? Will Johnson is a 6'2, Junior, top defensive back from Michigan. As a true sophomore, Johnson had 4 interceptions and 20 solo tackles last year.
We should consider exploring Clarence Lewis as a potential candidate. He is a 5'11 Senior from Notre Dame, who has a quick 4.45 forty-yard dash time and remarkable coverage skills. The fact that he is a returning starter speaks volumes about his abilities, but it appears that he may not be content with the team's direction.
Two defensive tackles, Bill Norton from Arizona and Jermayne Lole from Louisville, recently entered the transfer portal. I believe they would make good additions to our team's depth. We don't necessarily need star players, but individuals willing to compete for a starting position are necessary.
Summary
I didn't mention specific names regarding players transferring out, but I expect around 5 to 7 players to leave the team. This would open up some roster spots, allowing the team to recruit players from the portal and build a team capable of competing for a National Championship in Kalen Deboer's first year as head coach.
