Another Topic Rumored For Season 6 Dark Side Of The Ring

VICE's Dark Side of the Ring has been producing episodes for the 6th season of the series. There is a ton of hype for the next season, and many are wondering what will be covered next. Especially as there are still plenty of subjects for the show to cover. Now there is another topic that is rumored to be covered in this season, and it involves a WWE Legend.

The wrestler rumored to be covered is the Hardcore Legend Mick Foley. This was told by Jim Ross on his podcast when he was quoted saying the following

"I did an interview the other day on Mick Foley's 'Dark Side' piece. They really liked it. Evan (Husney) and those guys really liked it, they told me. It's very honest. That will be coming up whenever it's released. I don't know. They told me it's a key part of their feature. One of my favorite topics. Mick Foley. How can you not love him?"

This is a surprising choice, as he is often regarded as one of the nicest human beings in the business. There has never been a bad word said about the man himself. Looking deeper into Foley and his career in pro wrestling there are a ton of dark moments. There are three moments that come to mind with Foley's career that they got to cover in this.

How Mick Foley Lost His Ear

Mick Foley has had multiple injuries throughout his career, but the most memorable one is when he lost his ear in a match with Vader in 1994. This was during a European tour and Foley was going to do a hangman spot in the match. When doing it, he got caught on the ropes and had a tough time getting out and needed help from the ref. Vader was trying to get him up to continue the match, but while grabbing and punching him, Foley's ear just came off. There is fan camera footage of this incident as well and even without an ear, Foley finishes the match.

His Hell In A Cell Match With Undertaker

If an episode is covered on Mick Foley, not mentioning his Hell In A Cell Match with the Undertaker would make the episode uncredible. That is the match that sold everyone on the Hell in a Cell match stipulation and Mick Foley became a made man in the industry. When people talk about the wow factor in the attitude era, this match often gets brought up.

That I Quit Match With The Rock

During the 1999 Royal Rumble, Mick Foley would have an I Quit match with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson for the WWF Championship. It was a brutal match and The Rock got carried away.

During the match, Foley took several violent and dangerous bumps from The Rock all over the arena, including repeated steel chair shots to the head and a fall from the stands onto solid electrical objects, which sparked upon impact. Although steel chair shots to the head were commonplace, Foley took all 11 chair shots while he was handcuffed.

In the Beyond the Mat documentary, it was revealed that Foley's family was at ringside and they were traumatized and crying. They had to leave ringside due to how ugly the match was and they didn't want to see Foley hurt worse. Rock and Foley after this match, had a beef with each other for years. The Rock has apologized to him and it seems like they have made up which is awesome. This match though is one of the more controversial ones in the Attitude Era of WWE.

Many people are claiming that this is a confirmed episode, but that's a bit of a stretch. Especially as Kurt Angle and Scott Hall were rumored to have episodes done on them and they have not been released. Once the trailer gets released and all the topics get announced, that is when things are fully confirmed.

No matter what, this is still going to be a really good season if the rumored topics are true. Other topics that have been rumored are Dennis Coraluzzo, Billy Jack Haynes, and Ludvig Borgia.
