Auburn Football Lands No.1 Athlete For 2025 Class.
AUBURN, AL - Hugh Freeze and this staff have gotten off to a great head start on the 2025 recruiting cycle adding another 247 top 300 recruit this week. Kendarius Riddick is a 4-star athlete out of Thomasville, Georgia has committed to the Tigers. Riddick is the 41st-ranked player, No. 1 athlete, and the No. 7 recruit in Georgia.
He was recently in Auburn for a game visit back on September 16th where secondary coach Zac Etheridge was his main recruiter. He chose the Tigers over programs like Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, and Michigan. While he's listed as an athlete he's been recruited as a defensive back.
The talented defender projects as a safety at the next level but offers the athletic versatility to play any spot in the secondary. He is a perfect fit in a Ron Roberts 4-2-5 defensive scheme. Auburn's Defensive coordinator Ron Roberts loves to disguise his blitzes and Riddick offers that ability to rush the quarterback from the safety or the cornerback position.
He offers eye discipline that is rare in young safeties and corners to attack the ball and read the quarterback's eyes. He doesn't have the turnovers you would assume, but he's always in a position to make a play on the ball. He also has ball-tracking abilities that don't come often in a younger player. Younger players can often get so locked in with the player that they're guarding and become completely blind to the ball.
With Riddick's addition to the Auburn 2025 class is up to five commits and has moved up from the 10th class to the 4th class in the country. Only behind teams like Alabama, Georgia, and Notre Dame.
