Auburn Lands Rising Recruit Out Of Maryland And What Could Come Next

Three-star linebacker Bryce Deas (St. Frances Academy) from Baltimore, Maryland, has committed to the Auburn Tigers. Deas wasted no time in making his decision. After a camp workout at Auburn on Sunday, he received an offer from the Tigers the very next day. Without any delay, on Tuesday, he committed to Auburn.

Deas, who is 6 feet 1.5 and 210 pounds, is the No. 11 recruit out of Maryland, the No. 46 linebacker in the nation, and the No. 597 player in the class. He's the second linebacker committed to joining Auburn's 2025 class, alongside four-star Tyler Lockhart. Lockhart's and Bryce Deas's primary recruiter was defensive coordinator D.J. Durkin, who has a history of developing linebackers.

Deas is the Tigers' third commitment in the last six days. He chose Auburn over programs like Colorado, Miami, Penn State, and USC. With the addition of Bryce Deas, Auburn's class moves from 11th to 8th in the 2025 recruiting cycle.

Domino Effect For Auburn?

Potential Auburn Commit Blake Woodby
Cornerback Blake Woodby

Deas's commitment could help Auburn secure another recruit they are pursuing. Deas's teammate, four-star cornerback Blake Woodby, is 5' 10.5" and 175 pounds. Woodby is ranked as the No. 2 recruit in Maryland, the No. 15 cornerback, and the No. 127 overall recruit.

Auburn is already seen as a favorite for Woodby, and having Deas as his teammate can only improve the Tiger's chances. If Auburn lands him, their 2025 class would improve from the No. 8 ranked class to the No. 5 ranked class.
