Ben Sinnott Has Fantasy Upside Even As A Rookie
Ben Sinnott (6’4 245) was drafted 53rd overall in the second round by the Washington Commanders after three seasons at Kansas State. He compiled 82 catches on 123 targets (66.7 Catch %) with 1138 yards (13.9 yards per reception) and 10 touchdowns. Sinnott is also a very capable blocker, with 76.1 run blocking and 72.8 pass blocking grades, according to PFF.
He lands on the Commanders, where he will be the starting Tight End from day one. Let's be honest: Zach Ertz is not there to be the full-time starter at this stage in his career. Washington has multiple receiving options and a new quarterback and coordinator combination. Kliff Kingsbury's offenses in Arizona averaged 91 targets to tight ends a season.
If Sinnott can bring in around 70% (64 targets) of those targets with his playmaking ability, he could have a decent rookie season. The thing is, he has to compete with McLaurin, Dotson, fellow rookie Luke McCaffrey, Ekeler, and Brian Robinson to earn those 64 targets in an offense being run by a dynamic and explosive rookie. Daniels is still a rookie who utilizes his legs just as much as his arm.
Sinnott has a solid floor with some pretty high upside; if he and Daniels form a connection early, there is even a slight possibility of a Sam LaPorta-type career trajectory. In his first year, he could have a Kyle Pitts-type season, and it wouldn’t surprise me. He is a great late second-round pick in dynasty formats if you don't want to pay up for Bowers. With an ADP of 133 Sinnott is a great value in dynasty leagues. In Redraft's leagues, he is probably a late or last-round pick, which could turn out to be useful.
Our consensus projections for Sinnott in the 2024 season are 48 receptions, 479 yards, and 4 touchdowns.
