Best Bets And Predictions For Week Two Of The NFL

Week two of the NFL is upon us. Lots of high-stakes matchups and an even better chance to make some money. Let's get into the picks.

Thursday, 9/14

Vikings @ Eagles (-6)

Previous Week:

Vikings (L) vs. Tampa Bay, 20-17

Eagles (W) @ Patriots, 25-20

Analysis And Prediction:

The Vikings faced a hard loss against the Buccaneers in week one. They couldn't find any consistency on either side of the ball and it showed.

For the Eagles, they started up 16-0 and the Patriots chipped away at the lead. Patriots made it 16-14 heading into halftime.

They still couldn't complete the comeback at the end with Kayshon Boutte being ruled out of bounds with 27 seconds to go, essentially ending the game.

I'm riding with the Eagles here. Last year the Birds went 7-2 at home last season and were 6-3 ATS as home favorites. Meanwhile, Minnesota went 3-5 ATS and 5-3 SU on the road.

Score Prediction:

Eagles 34, Vikings 24

Best Bet:

Over 49.5

Sunday, 9/17

Bears @ Buccaneers (-2.5)

Previous Week:

Packers @ Bears (L), 38-20

Buccaneers (W) @ Vikings, 20-17

Analysis And Prediction:

The Bears were one of the biggest disappointments in week one. The offense couldn't get anything going behind the bad play calling, bad offensive line play, and inconsistent quarterback play. The defense couldn't get stops and looked lost on the field.

The Bucs pulled off the upset of week one by beating the Vikings. Baker Mayfield has won this locker room over. He's gonna play hard and his teammates will follow along.

Give me the Buccaneers and the points.

Score Prediction:

Buccaneers 24, Bears 17

Best Bet:

Bucs -2.5

Packers @ Falcons (-1.5)

Previous Week:

Packers (W) @ Bears, 38-20

Panthers @ Falcons (W), 24-10

Analysis And Prediction:

The Packers look like they might have found something in quarterback Jordan Love. In his second start, he played well throwing for 245 yards and three touchdowns.

The availability of Christian Watson and Aaron Jones are both in the air this week.

The Green Bay defense also looked the part forcing two turnovers and sacking Justin Fields four times.

The Falcons have an elite running back duo in Bijan Robinson and Tyler Allgeier. They ran for a combined 131 yards with two touchdowns. Robinson also added a receiving touchdown.

It all comes down to the play of quarterback Desmond Ridder. He wasn't special in week one but he was efficient completing 15 passes for 115 yards and a touchdown.

The Falcons overturned their defense in the offseason. Adding twenty new defensive players including Jessie Bates, Calais Campbell, and Bud Dupree, and traded for Jeff Okudah to pair with A.J. Terrell.

The new Falcons defense forced rookie quarterback Bryce Young to make mistakes throwing two interceptions. Both to the new addition, Jessie Bates.

I've gone back and forth on this game all week so I'm gonna do what I do when I'm not sure. I'm going to take the home team.

Score Prediction:

Falcons 24, Packers 21

Best Bet:

Falcons -1.5

Chargers (-3) @ Titans

Previous Week:

Dolphins @ Chargers (L), 36-34

Titans (L) @ Saints, 16-15

Analysis And Prediction:

The Chargers are looking to bounce back from a high-scoring loss vs. the Dolphins. I expect them to do just that here.

Justin Herbert and that offense will simply be too much for the Titans offense to keep up with. Ryan Tannehill can't out-duel Justin Herbert in a shootout.

Score Prediction:

Chargers 47, Titans 20

Best Bet:

Chargers -3

Chiefs (-3.5) @ Jaguars

Previous Week:

Lions @ Chiefs (L), 21-20

Colts @ Jaguars (W), 31-21

Analysis And Prediction:

Even without Travis Kelce and Chris Jones the Chiefs still almost won their matchup against the Lions. I expect Jones to be back for this AFC showdown. Even if he's on a snap count he will still have an impact as one of the best interior defensive linemen in the NFL.

What about Kelce? He gave an update saying he ran at Tuesday's practice. I bet we see him back vs. Jacksonville. Which gives Patrick Mahomes the playmaker he was lacking last Thursday.

The Jaguars opened their season by taking on the Colts led by rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson. The Jaguars look like a team with one of the best offenses in the NFL with the addition of Calvin Ridley. This is an offense with plenty of weapons at Trevor Lawrence's disposal.

I like the Chiefs in this matchup. The Chiefs have a 39-11 record after a loss since 2020.

Score Prediction:

Chiefs 31, Jaguars 27

Best Bet:

Over 51

Raiders @ Bills (-8.5)

Previous Week:

Raiders (W) @ Broncos, 17-16

Bills (L) @ Jets, 22-16

Analysis And Prediction:

I think this is the perfect bounce-back spot for the Bills. Josh Allen played as poorly as possible last week. Bills are still one of the elite teams in the NFL and remind everyone this week.

Score Prediction:

Bills 35, Raiders 21

Best Bet:

Over 47

Ravens @ Bengals (-3)

Previous Week:

Texans @ Ravens (W), 25-9

Bengals (L) @ Browns, 24-3

Analysis And Prediction:

Like the Bills, this is a bounce-back spot for the Bengals. It's week one of the NFL and fans always overreact about how good or bad their team looked.

Lamar also didn't play well in week one vs. the Texans but the Ravens still won.

I like the Bengals roster more than the Ravens and think they win on Sunday.

Score Prediction:

Bengals 31, Ravens 21

Best Bet:

Bengals -3

Seahawks @ Lions (-4.5)

Previous Week:

Rams @ Seahawks (L), 30-13

Lions (W) @ Chiefs, 21-20

Analysis And Prediction:

I really like the Lions in this matchup after their big win against the Chiefs. The Seahawks also looked rough against the Rams in week one.

The Lions also have a strong record of 13-4 ATS at home in the past two seasons. Give me the Lions and the points.

Score Prediction:

Lions 37, Seahawks 24

Best Bet:

Lions -4.5

Colts @ Texans (-1.5)

Previous Week:

Colts (L) @ Jaguars, 31-21

Texans (L) @ Ravens, 25-9

Analysis And Prediction:

The battle of the rookie quarterbacks. C.J. Stroud vs. Anthony Richardson. Stroud and Richardson both played well in week one.

I like Richardson's rushing ability in this matchup to make the difference in this game over Stroud.

Score Prediction:

Colts 17, Texans 10

Best Bet:

Under 39

Giants (-4) @ Cardinals

Previous Week:

Cowboys @ Giants (L), 40-0

Cardinals (L) @ Commanders, 20-16

Analysis And Prediction:

I'm just gonna say what everyone is thinking. This is a gross matchup. The Giants got 40 hung on them with no response on offense and the Cardinals kept it close with the Commanders. Yet they're still a bad football team. I'm gonna go with what I think is the better of these two teams and take the Giants.

Score Prediction:

Giants 24, Cardinals 10

Best Bet:

Under 39.5

49ers (-7.5) @ Rams

Previous Week:

49ers (W) @ Steelers, 30-7

Rams (W) @ Seahawks, 30-13

Analysis And Prediction:

The 49ers looked like the best team in the NFL last week. They completely shut down the Steelers' offense and scored at will against a Mike Tomlin defense.

The Rams surprised everyone by going to Seattle and handling their business all game. Matthew Stafford still looks the part of a franchise quarterback and didn't even have his star wide receiver, Cooper Kupp.

I love the 49ers here. Coach Kyle Shannon has Sean McVay's number with a 7-3 record.

Score Prediction:

49ers 41, Rams 27

Best Bet:

49ers -7

Jets @ Cowboys (-9)

Previous Week:

Bills @ Jets (W), 22-16

Cowboys (W) @ Giants, 40-0

Analysis And Prediction:

The Jets lost their star quarterback - Aaron Rodgers in week one after trading for him in the offseason. They still beat the Bills at home thanks to the Jets defense-making Josh Allen turn the ball over three times.

The Cowboys' defense showed up and showed out. Forcing a shutout against the Giants offense that has talented playmakers in Saquon Barkley and Darren Waller.

This game is going to be a low-scoring game featuring two of the best defenses in the NFL. I favor the Cowboys in this matchup over the Jets without Aaron Rodgers.

Score Prediction:

Cowboys 24, Jets 14

Best Bet:

Under 39

Commanders @ Broncos (-3.5)

Previous Week:

Cardinals @ Commanders (W), 20-16

Raiders @ Broncos (L), 17-16

Analysis And Prediction:

Commanders survived week one vs. the worst team in the NFL. The Broncos didn't look better under Russell Wilson and Sean Payton in week one losing to the Raiders.

I don't trust the Broncos' offensive line here against a strong Washington defensive line. On the other side, I have concerns for Sam Howell on the road vs. the Broncos.

I'm gonna side with the Broncos here as the home team and I think Sean Payton will get his first win in Denver.

Score Prediction:

Broncos 20, Commanders 14

Best Bet:

Under 39

Dolphins @ Patriots

Previous Week:

Dolphins (W) @ Chargers, 36-34

Eagles @ Patriots (L), 25-20

Analysis And Prediction:

The Dolphins traveled to LA to take on the Chargers and won in a shootout. Tua looked unreal in this game throwing for 466 yards and three touchdowns. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle were both game-changers in this matchup.

On the other side, the Patriots almost completed the comeback down 16-0 to last year's Super Bowl runner-up - Philadelphia Eagles. Mac Jones played great throwing for over 300 yards along with three touchdowns.

I like the high-scoring Dolphins offense in this matchup against the Patriots. I think the Patriots will have a great game plan for limiting Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. This game will be very close in the first half. I expect the Fins' playmakers to make more plays than the Pats can match.

Score Prediction:

Dolphins 31, Patriots 20

Best Bet:

Dolphins -3

Monday, 9/18

Saints (-3) @ Panthers

Previous Week:

Titans @ Saints (W), 16-15

Panthers (L) @ Falcons, 24-10

Analysis And Prediction:

Any chance I can get to fade rookie quarterbacks I will. I believe in Bryce Young's future in the NFL but he's going to take his lumps early. I think that continues in this game.

Score Prediction:

Saints 21, Panthers 7

Best Bet:

Under 39.5

Browns (-2.5) @ Steelers

Previous Weeks:

Bengals @ Browns (W), 24-3

49ers @ Steelers (L), 30-7

Analysis And Prediction:

I'm big on the Steelers in this game. Steelers have a record of 10-2 after losses of 20 points or more. Steelers are also 20-0 in their last 20 home games on Monday Night Football.

Score Prediction:

Steelers 24, Browns 14

Best Bet:

Steelers ML
