Bet These NFL Teams To Win Week 1

While the NFL season is still a few months away, it’s never too early to take a look at some of the top games for Week One. I have chosen five teams that I think you should bet to win during the opening week of the NFL season.

While injuries, trades, and signings could impact my choices within the coming weeks, I think it is a smart idea to bet now before any lines increase or decrease. But always make sure to bet legally and responsibly! Call 1-800-GAMBLER if you need help with a gambling addiction.

1. Kansas City Chiefs (-3) vs. Baltimore Ravens

The defending champions took care of business against the Baltimore Ravens on the way to their Super Bowl victory last postseason, so it is no surprise that Kansas City is favored in the opening night of the 2024 NFL season.

The Chiefs added wide receiver Hollywood Brown, drafted speedy wideout Xavier Worthy, and retained most of their star players from last season. I think with an improved offensive line and receiving corps, the Chiefs will be better than ever.

I predict Kansas City to win a close game and win their first game of the season for the eighth time in nine seasons. While Baltimore will put up a good fight, I think that Patrick Mahomes will lead a game-winning drive to send Chiefs fans home happy.

2. Tennessee Titans (+4.5) @ Chicago Bears

It’s the battle of the two teams that won the 2024 NFL off-season. The Chicago Bears will introduce flashy running back D'Andre Swift, veteran wide receiver Keenan Allen, and of course their first-overall pick, quarterback Caleb Williams. The team is expected to compete for a playoff spot this season.

Meanwhile, Tennessee is relying on second-year quarterback Will Levis to take a big leap in his sophomore season. The Titans improved their dreadful offensive line, as well as their secondary, and added star wide receiver Calvin Ridley to give Levis support. The team could be a playoff team or sit near the bottom of the league.

I’m surprised the Bears are favored by 4.5 points as I expect Caleb Williams to have some growing pains in his first professional start. Tennessee's roster is more experienced and ready to prove the doubters wrong as I expect the navy and powder blue to start 1-0.

3. Pittsburgh Steelers (+2.5) @ Atlanta Falcons

I’m predicting the Pittsburgh Steelers to win the Arthur Smith revenge game. In Smith’s offensive coaching debut since his firing from Atlanta, it’ll be two teams with new quarterbacks as Russell Wilson looks to revive his career, while Kirk Cousins makes his first start since his season-ending injury in Minnesota.

Both teams have playoff expectations in 2024 but play in nearly opposite divisions. While Pittsburgh will battle against three teams that had winning records last season, the Falcons will be playing in arguably the worst division in the NFL. I don’t know how healthy Kirk will be to start the year so I’m giving the edge to Pittsburgh in their new-look offense.

4. Arizona Cardinals (+7) @ Buffalo Bills

Arizona is a team that will do better than many people expect in 2024. With Kyler Murray healthy and an improved defense, they could win eight or nine games this year. It'll be the debut of Marvin Harrison Jr, the highly anticipated Ohio State superstar expected to make an immediate impact.

I think the Cardinals definitely lose to the Bills as they should, but it will be close. Buffalo is so talented and should be able to compete within the AFC once again. Despite losing Stefan Diggs, I expect Josh Allen to keep the offense going strong. I would bet the Bills to win but not to cover the spread.

5. New England Patriots (+9) @ Cincinnati Bengals

This AFC battle is another game that will not be as spread out as many think. While the Patriots only won four games last year, their defense was still a strong spot and will win New England some games in 2024. It will also be interesting to see if head coach Jerod Mayo will start talented rookie Drake Maye or veteran Jacoby Brissett.

Meanwhile, for Cincinnati, Joe Burrow is coming off an injury-plagued season and I could see him struggle like he did a few years ago against the Steelers, when he threw four interceptions in an upset loss.

While I believe the Bengals will be Super Bowl contenders in 2024, I think this will be a trap game. If Jacoby Brissett starts, I think he could steal a win versus Cincinnati, but likely New England makes it close so bet against the spread.
