Bill Belichick Was Ready To Draft This Top Player Before He Got Fired
The NFL Scouting Combine is in Indianapolis, Indiana, at that moment, and it's finally rumor season; when the Combine starts, all the rumors for free agency, trades, and the NFL Draft usually begin , and on Wednesday, a giant news bomb was dropped.
Former New England Patriots head coach Bill Belichick is nowhere near the Combine this season after he and the team parted ways earlier this year, but of course, his name is constantly being brought up. Bridget Condon from the NFL Network stated that Belichick had LSU Tiger quarterback Jayden Daniels as the man on top of his draft board.
Belichick unfortunately never had the chance to draft Daniels, and why should he have gotten another shot after the Mac Jones pick three years ago?
The real question is how does current head coach Jerod Mayo feel about Daniels. Mayo was a coach under Belichick last season, so they may have shared the same thoughts on the quarterback.
Daniels won the Heisman Trophy last season in college football and is supposed to be drafted in the Top three picks this year.
New England holds the third pick; right now, three quarterbacks could go in the first three picks. USC's quarterback Caleb Williams will be going number one to the Chicago Bears, and Washington sits with the second pick and also will be going quarterback. It will be down to either Daniels or North Carolina's quarterback, Drake Maye.
