Bold Predictions For The 2024 NFL Season

Justin Fields Will Become The Steelers’ Franchise Quarterback

The Pittsburgh Steelers have Russell Wilson and Justin Fields in their QB room. While it appears they’ll start Wilson early in the year, Justin Fields will likely take over at some point. Russell Wilson has been regressing, and Justin Fields was extremely underutilized in Chicago. Pittsburgh won 10 games last year with Kenny Pickett and Mason Rudolph, neither of which are as good as Fields. The Bengals are getting Joe Burrow back, so they’ll be back in contention.

Lamar Jackson is coming off an MVP season and the Ravens added monster running back Derrick Henry to compliment him. The AFC North will be difficult to compete in, but the Steelers have a strong roster already. Runningback Najee Harris is on a prove-it year, and wideout George Pickens is only climbing the ranks. 2024 might not be their year, but things are looking up for Pittsburgh’s future. If they give the 25-year-old a shot, he can thrive under Mike Tomlin and reach his potential.

Anthony Richardson Will Be A Top-10 Quarterback

The Indianapolis Colts drafted Anthony Richardson 4th overall in the 2023 NFL Draft, and the Florida product caught plenty of attention early on. Richardson played 4 games last year and went 2-2 before injuring his shoulder and missing the rest of the year. In those 4 games, Richardson threw for 577 yards and 3 touchdowns. He also rushed for 136 yards and 4 touchdowns in that span. He looked to be the answer to the Colts’ problems, and Indy fans were excited.

With this injury happening early in his career, he’ll likely change his play style to be less physical and avoid contact more often. Richardson showed how good he is when he's healthy, and a whole season of that can put him right into the top 10. The Texans look to be the kings of the AFC South right now, but the Colts can realistically compete in an otherwise weak division. Anthony Richardson will prove his talent this year, and bring some competition to CJ Stroud and the Texans.

The Detroit Lions Will Win The NFC Championship

The Lions blew everybody away with their success last season. They won their first playoff game in over 30 years, and they made it to the NFC Conference Championship game. Unfortunately, they ran into the juggernaut 49ers, but still only lost by 3 points. The Lions then took a 12-5 team, and somehow made more improvements and addressed nearly all of their roster issues. The NFC North is very ripe for the picking this year. The Vikings are hitting a soft reset button, so they shouldn’t pose an immediate threat.

Jordan Love might be the third straight franchise quarterback for the Packers, but they’re a very young team still finding their way. Detroit has a resurging veteran QB with Jared Goff. They also have weapons like runningback Jahmyr Gibbs and wideout Amon-Ra St. Brown. They’re in a position to win now. They can likely run into the Chiefs and fail, but 2024 is the time for the Lions’ to make their first Super Bowl appearance and bring some more excitement to the Motor City.
