Breaking: Alabama Lands Star Tight End In The 2025 Class
When Nick Saban called it a career earlier this year, many wondered how Alabama would do without their leader. They hired Washington's head coach, Kalen DeBoer, who brought the Huskies to the title game but lost to Michigan.
DeBoer recruited very well at Washington, but competing and recruiting in the SEC is a different animal, and he has mastered it.
On Tuesday, DeBoer was able to land star tight end Kaleb Edwards. The 6-foot-4 245-pound tight end is from El Dorado Hills, California, and chose the Crimson Tide over schools like Texas, Oregon, and Alabama's biggest rival, Auburn.
According to 247sports.com, Edwards is ranked as the sixth-best tight end in the class of 2025 and the 159th overall player.
DeBoer loves to throw the football, and the tight end will often be featured in the offense.
Alabama's offense will be different this season. Many fans were used to the ground-and-pound football played under Saban, and man, did he master it well. But now the ball will be in the air a lot, and quarterback Jalen Milroe better get ready to throw the ball around because we all know how great of a runner he is. Still, he must show off his arm this fall if the Crimson Tide wants to win big games.
Fans should be very excited about DeBoer, and even though their new tight end, Edwards, won't come until 2025, fans should also be very enthusiastic about him.
